I'm curious about what kind of people visit r9k. If you've got a moment, answer these questions and then check out what other people answered.

To the person who asked, there's no erroneous diagnosis option because those diagnoses are not valid. Since you don't really have them, they don't matter. Only what might actually be affecting your mental state matters in that question.

Requires an account, which I haven't had for years and can't be bothered to remake.

I can't demand that you look into allowing anonymous access, not after you've done a good job designing the questions already (thanks), but I imagine it should be possible.

People who say that just are just shirking the responsibility to find (or state) behaviour patterns.

>>

Who is Hestia Lamar and why are they viewing the data?
>>
>>30447125
This is exactly the kind of rhetoric which is used to meaninglessly-but-pseudoplausibly connote that a finding, e. g. racial, is somehow flawed. 'Yes, race X in general is Y, but you should focus on the individual rather than broad generalizations.' Or: 'Yes, robots in general or normals or general are such-and-such, but you should realize that your definition of a robot/a normal is arbitrary', as if arbitrariness of definitions which we can use in empirical studies isn't a perk and not a 'flaw' (as it is almost uniformly referred to).

I'm honestly rather embarrassed that I have to spell it out as if you weren't aware of all this.

>>30447397
Psychologists say that individual differences in cognition/behaviour are so varied and complex that we cannot use most research to predict human responses.

Sociologists say that overall patterns are the best way to predict human responses and that outliers in data don't matter in the long run.

Obviously, both are correct, but everyone has a personal bias toward one or the other. We need to keep both perspectives in mind.

I see.

That's nonsense. The first 'position' is literally just 'the patterns are too many for us to ever know perfectly waah', with a connotation to give up (or, as I described, to dismiss politically inconvenient findings). Sure there's always room for new studies to conduct, the proverbial relationship between eating candy and shoe colour. But I don't find a 'limitation' of science, as the former would have it, but rather its infinite flexibility: we'll never run of things to study! The 'if you are too attached to generalizations, you are hurting the individual through prejudice' is just a pretext; nobody saying this really has the invividuals in question in mind.

Hey, thanks. I've had some practise doing these surveys on /b/ a few times, so I've figured word questions so the responses are more accurate. I thought about including an IQ question, but honestly most people have never been measured reliably and will just guess or answer what some online test told them. I've tried it a few times and it was pretty meh, results-wise.

>>30447846
Feel free to suggest them here and I'll include them in my next survey.

>>30447959
It stands for male to female, so they started male and now identify as a female. They might still have a dick or they might not anymore. You can't change your chromosomes, though.
>>
>>30447979
I actually think that they're not so much mentally ill, as they feel like and enjoy things a typical person of the opposite gender would feel/enjoy. A very feminine man wouldn't feel comfortable if people assumed things about them that are very opposite to how they feel. So they start to call themselves female as a way of helping society understand who they are.

I think getting your dick cut off/your vagina sewed up is taking it a step to far, though. Let the men wear dresses and the women act butch. No body needs surgery for that.
