Nah sorry man just unusually busy, I'll get a move on

Our tribe is part of a species of ape-human hybrids. We tower over the average human, and can muster skull crushing strength. However, we aren't as intelligent as a typical human tribe.

We have arrived in a fjord, deep in the north after months of hard travel, many of our people died along the journey. The area is a deep valley with a wide river running down the middle. The valley is surrounded by Rocky Mountains. There is a forest approximately 2 hours walk from the river.

What should we do?

>A. Begin a settlement down on the banks of the river. (Better protected from the weather by the mountains, but less protective from human attackers)
>B. Settle atop the mountain (Weather will be more brutal, but you will have the defensive edge over any approaching attackers)
>C. Settle in the forest (Food and water is less accessible, but wood and protection is more available. Our ape like people also feel more safe and comfortable in the forest)
>D. Write-in
>>
>>360847

All of the people of the tribe scurry into the water, they cup their furry hands and take deep gulps. They also try to catch fish with their bare hands. Around half are lucky enough to catch them, but that leaves half the tribe hungry. Maybe we should find a better way to get food.

>>
>>363282
You split into two parties, one that searches the forest for food and one that catches fish by hand. The fish group have little luck, catching enough fish to feed maybe 1/4 of the tribe.
The foraging group find a type of red berries. These berries are everywhere, literally thousand of them. But are they safe to eat?

>A. Research red berry plants
>B. Research nets
>C. Research shelters
>D. Write-in
>>
>>363302
"research" the red berrys aka feed some of them to the oldfag, if his immune system can handel them then even the young ones in the tribe can handle them.
wile the old dude sees if he will die or not, the tribe will be split once more.
the quater that was able to eat will start gather wood and craft rudamentary spears to make fisching more efficiant wile the weak triblings need to save there energy.

this way the tribe should have the highest survival chances.
by the way, how long is one turn?
week, month, year?

Each turn is different, I'm basing turns on how much happens. So for example if you attack and kill another tribe, over the course of a day, that will be one turn. But also if you research for example metal smithing over the course of a month, that could be one turn. I'll keep track of time elapsed

The tribe is once more divided. Sending our strongest most energetic people to gather sticks and logs to begin crafting basic spears. They spend a day out in the Forrest, and return at sundown with plenty of sticks which they begin sharpening on the rocks. They also brought back some of the red berries.

We tell the oldest weakest man that they're safe to eat and give him handfuls of berries. We now sit tight and wait for a reaction.

Rolling for how severe the berries affected him.

Meanwhile:
>A. Research better weapons
>B. Learn how to build basic structures, things are getting colder

>D. Research agriculture, were hungry

and in the evening the tribe will hold a feast of fish and trippy berries

The next morning the tribe awaken as the sun rises. Many surprised to see flakes of snow lightly falling down to earth.

Winter must be here

no now that i think about it a structure like that is above our paygrade yet.
the best thing we have are a few pionty stricks and we need to be able to properly chop wood to build a house.
ok then lets keep the house in mind as soon as we got ourself some stone axes.
instead lets have our strongest triblings take up there sticks and go out hunting game.
the remaining people can try to figure out how to craft fishbones into simple needles and sinues into thread.
hopefully the hunters will be good enough to get leather and furs for the entire tribe.
one last thing if possible wile out hunting the people could hope to find a cave big enough to hold the tribe in case winter overruns us.

We spend a day researching and constructing sticks with rocks attached to the end, some of the rocks are sharpened to act as an axe. Another day is used having all our people drag logs and sticks back and fourth between the forest and the fjord. And finally a week is used researching and constructing a building. By the end of it all we have a weak but large structure to house our people. Furs covering the walls to keep warm and protect us from the dreaded silver powder!

Weeks pass, we survive on our stockpile of Rabberies, deer, and some fish.

During one of our daily "prayer sessions", the mad God lets his will be known! The mission he has given us is to destroy the evil small humans that pray to Sola. How are we going to set about this?

Actually, yes, let's put that point to strenght.
That will open up more early tech options, seeing that we do not need animals or machinery to do lot of the stuff regular people do.
>>
>>366526
I retract this vote because up until cold war, muscle power was needed for almost everything.

More muscle power = greater output from just about everything until automatisation.
The amount of labour needed to achieve things will go down significantly as we can cut down trees, mine and make tools much faster.

Ultimately the reason we use machines is because humans are weak. If we were strong, lot of machines would be unnecessary.

If each of our guys had the strenght of a bull or an elephant, then you'd need artillery to hardcounter us as each of our tribe can merely shape the earth around in moments to create a small fort, which means that they would need to either go in hitting distances to dislodge them or call in artillery.
