Your name is Ashy Jenkum, and you are on a quest to catch Rare Pepes. Scattered across the world, these unusual amphibians are highly prized for a variety of reasons, and it is the dream of every child to catch them all. However, in your excitement, you’ve completely lost your direction and realize you had no real preparations going into this quest. What do you want to do?

[[In general, combat, abilities, etc will be handled using a 1d20 roll. After a certain amount of time/number of responses, the most popular decision will be taken, as well as the highest roll. Roll posts with dubs, trips, etc will be given double, triple, etc weight.]]

This road has been entirely silent, and the sand is beginning to irritate your eyes. However, you start to make out someone walking down the road towards you.

You quickly check your inventory in case you need to defend yourself; you have no weapons, only a few chicken tendies, a favorite hat of yours, and some money.

Talk, fight, or flight?
>>

Talk to her, she seems well traveled. Maybe she knows where some Rare Pepes hide?
[[Do I have to roll for this?]]

"Rare Papi? No, mi padre es justo aquí. ¡Ven conmigo!"

She then points at the face drawn on what appears to be a personal map to guide her around town. She is pulling aggressively at your arm, wanting you to follow her. Do you?

[[Rolls are only necessary during conversation when you're trying to influence someone, e.g. convincing bandits to spare you, a stranger to give you something for free/a cheaper price, to have them believe a lie, etc.]]

>>249919
Yes, that green face thing looks like it could be a Pepe even though you know from your Spanish class that she might be bringing you to her Dad's house.

She takes you to a house, and once at the patio you realize your suspicions were correct; her father is watching you through the screen of his door.

The girl unloads about a dozen fresh fruits from her backpack into a bucket behind her, and her father comments in a thick accent, "Bueno, Dora, Bueno! You're becoming quite the comerciante! Mami will surely bake a delicioso pie! Who is your amigo?"

"No sé, que estaba buscando para usted, Papi."

"Oh?" He turns his attention towards you. "Sir, you have business with me?"
>>
>>249941
Tell him you are Ashy Jenkum and you are going to catch all the Pepes. Ask him where you should look to find Rare Pepes.
>>
>>249954
"Ah, Señor Ashy, pleased to make your conocido! I am a very modest hombre, it's just me, my esposa Roberta, and my beloved Dora, working to make ends toque. Rare Pepes are generally something that we cannot permitirse, too expensive, and also too dangerous in this town. I do, however, have one Pepe which is of incredible personal value to me, a familia heirloom. I keep it heavily watermarked at all times, but I could let you see it if you help me with a problem. Dora, go inside please and help your mami with the cleaning."

She merrily skips away, waving and saying "Un placer conocerte, Ashy!" as she disappears inside.

"You see, señor, we have an ongoing issue with a group of putas just outside of the marketplace, harassing locals and stealing from vendors. Not to judge, but you do have a somewhat intimidating air about you, the kind of man that looks like he could shoot up a universidad at any moment. I want you to scare them away. You cannot let them know I asked you to do this though, they could seek venganza against me and my family. Will you do it?"

"Hmm, yes, certainly. Here you go, I hope you don't have to use it. If you wish, you may also check the market place, they have many things, if you can name it, they've probably got it!"

He laughs, and then suddenly turns quite serious, "Before you leave, please, take my blessings."

He then pulls a charm of Saint Paco out from under his shirt, and kisses it. Suddenly there is a flash of light around you. Your game has been saved.

You leave the gangsters' base and begin wandering around town, asking random pedestrians about wizardry. Most seem to get nervous and skitter away upon using the word, but one just points directly towards a town center before disappearing. You approach and see the a large bronze statue, in dedication to the internationally renowned deity, Kek. A wizard pops up in front of you, eager to have a visitor.

"Ah, good travels friend. Have you come for praise and worship?"

"Not right now, padre, I'm in need of learning magicks, I wish to learn the arcane and mystical."

"Oh you young ones are always the same, it's all about the results and not the journey for you, ah well, you'll learn in due time if you're worthy. Your power level is rather small, but I can tell you have ambition. I can sell you scrolls which allow you to learn a new spell, draining from your mana. Additionally, I can sell you items and artifacts which contain an inherent magical power, to be used and then either recharged or discarded. In fact..."

He senses something in your backpack and peeks inside.

"OH MY KEK! Wew, that doll really did a number on me. Usually I and other Followers of Kek charge to have items identified, but consider this a freebee. That object is an artifact which casts Spook on anyone capable of being affected. You can't use it repeatedly, but it will recharge given enough time, approximately once per three days. If you're interested I can sell you similar such items, but they won't come cheap. Or, try to think of a scroll to purchase, there's a good chance we have it in stock."

"Full-body metamorphosis isn't possible with your skill level, and wouldn't come cheap either. 20 GBPs, eh? You could afford a cheap shaman buff, something that would change a single body part and grant temporary powers, but nothing more."

"I could sell you a scroll of Spark, a mild but dependable introductory offensive spell. Can also be used to light up dark areas. 20 GBPs."

[[First guy has a high roll, but second guy rolls high too, or if a tie-breaker would like to go for Spark, or roll higher for a different spell, we could do that too.]]

"Sounds like you're really into monster girls, sir, n-not that I'm judging you. For 20 GBP, tell me the monster girl you would most like to be, and I can set you on the first step towards the path of your greatest fantasies. You're a weak caster right now and will only be able to maintain a temporary state of feminine monster appearance, for example maybe a bunny tail or partial bark skin or things along those lines, but if you continue to train hard and research new spells, I have faith that you will achieve your goal."

"Deal!"

He takes all of your GBPs, and then hands you a battered scroll. Unfurling it, you are surprised to see that it is not only perfectly legible, but that you feel an uncontrollable impulse to read it out loud.

"STING WIDE, KERATIN BRIDE!"

For a brief moment, you feel an extension at your tail bone which brings pain as quickly as ecstasy, but then subsides.

"Wow, you learned that one like a pro! Whenever you wish to cast that spell, make sure to say the magic command phrase, and it will activate. Remember to watch your mana levels at all times, however."

"Oh, one more tip before you go. I noticed that you had this kind of dark energy and tiredness about you. At first I thought it was your doll, but now I realize you must have been cursed recently. Curses are tricky to deal with, but if you find a shrine of Kek, he may or may not lift it from you should you bow and request it. If you're about to leave, I'd recommend that you try it."

Kek is highly amused, his laugh billowing through the town square, then echoed by the giddy mocking of his followers previously engaged in worship (or rather, now engaged in another kind of worship). Your fatigue now feels even worse.

The old wizard chuckles to, but gives you a sympathetic shrug to hint that it happens to even the best of us.

You now make your way back to Dora's house...

You make it back to Dora's home, and see their full family standing out on the patio, smiling upon your return.

Bueno's gorgeous wife looks terrified when she notices your injuries, and motions you to come inside in rest. Before that can happen, Señor Bueno asks, "Well, compadre? What of the gang?"
>>
>>257016
They're all pretty dead I'd say.

"Hmm... it didn't have to be this way, but I comprehende that you did what had to be done. Frankly, amigo, I'm surprised you managed to kill all five, I've seen very strong men snap under the weight of Big Billy. At least they won't be a threat to us anymore."
>>
"To be frank, señor retardino, this wasn't even my business-- slicing some gangbanger's throat, running downtown like a retard to get away with law enforcement is is, waiting hopelessly to do an anal with your daughter--"

I then hold my tongue after realizing I flew into rage too far.

"Well, hombre, you did an estupendo job! I can't wait to watch el televisión tomorrow morning and hear of your cajones. Which reminds me..."

He walks away from the screen door for a moment, then approaches with a heavily watermarked image. He removes the anti-watermark key from his pocket, and suddenly it disintegrates. You take in its rustic beauty, then hover your Pepedex over, officially gaining you your first Pepe! A tier-six Pepe, it isn't quite that rare, but it's a good start.

You celebrate with his family, recuperating the damage you had taken earlier as well as recovering your mana. Bueno blesses you again, saving your progress.

Do you wish to go to sleep now, or do you still have more to ask before the morning?

You pray, but nothing happens. Exhausted and weary, you drift off into a deep sleep, gaining 100 EXP dreaming of your lovely new Pepe and extremely lewd thoughts of Bueno's wife's culo, when suddenly...

"Soooo, Ashy, I conectar the news station, and see not only that you had not destroyed the gang, you allowed its two most powerful miembros to live and enact a revenge and kill three more innocents today, and vow to find all those responsible. Now, I may not have the best memoria in my advanced age, but I feel quite certain that you just LIED to me last night, and after I showed you my beloved Pepe. I might kill you for this on another day for such an insult, but I fear for my family more than anything in the whole wide tierra. Bueno wasn't expecting you to attack; at close range, you activate your cute, feminine scorpion tail, poised to strike him, consuming 5 mana, dealing 12 damage, as well as poisoning him dealing 2 further damage.

He cries out for his wife and child to run away, but instead they just look inside the room in shock.

You block the doorway, and with your scorpion tail hold Dora hostage, warning both parents that she is one sting away from death. They drop to their knees and beg for you not to harm her and say they'll do anything if you let go. Bueno takes an additional two poison damage, currently at 64 HP.

You're nervous and realize the risk you've just made. Your scorpion powers could fade at any moment, and even though Bueno and his qt Peruvian wife are lying on the ground, you can sense his seething hatred. It's hard to even stand still right now, let alone convince Bueno that you're doing him some kind of favor...

"Y-you see, Bueno, I, uh, well, you should have warned me, I mean, I killed the ma-majority of the gang, technically, so... really, you owe me, I'm just... showing you, that I could, um, kill you if I wanted to, even though I won't, because, uh you showed me your Pepe."

Your rambling confusion terrifies Bueno even more because he now realizes he is dealing with someone truly mentally ill. When you realize that he realizes that, you have an existential panic attack, and feel the only escape is to kill Dora. Your stinger already poised around her neck, you effortlessly cut her spinal chord and she falls limp, probably never feeling a thing. Without even thinking, you lift her tiny corpse into your backpack with your tail, narrowly dodging a furious Bueno that has lost all hope and has no reason to live except to exact revenge on you. The parents' screams would haunt you if you had any kind of soul, but alas. You jump out of a window and run into the street, the sun still just rising on a perversely clear and beautiful day.

You gain 5 EXP for killing Dora.

Where do you go now?
