Yuki Yuna is one of those badass action anime that people overlooked because they saw the cute girls and thought "I hate moeshit, I am ignoring this." The industry likes to trick people like that and weed out the retards.

LN prequels to YuYuYu. WaSuYu is set 2 years beforehand and focuses on Sumi (young Tougou), Sonoko (girl covered in bandages) and another girl called Gin. NoWaYu is set 300 years beforehand and is about the initial Vertex invasion of Earth and the death of most of the human race.

WaSuYu is actually getting an anime adaptation next year, you probably want to read it first.
