2. Yuru Yuri
3. Yuru Yuri is a Japanese anime series centering on four, plus some more, middle school girls.
It falls into the slice of life and comedy genres. Note this is NOT an ecchi anime so don't watch it expecting to get an erection. Its about cute girls who do funny things.
The general premise of the show is four middle school girls at an all girls school in Japan form an amusement club and then proceed to deliever fans with three seasons of all kinds of antics. There are also OVAs and a manga.
Yuru Yuri is popular on 4chan due to its lighthearted comedy, often centering on innocent yuri love. It also has a very bright and expressive art style which makes it very popular for use as reaction images.
I highly recommend that everyone watch it for the light and innocent comedy that also manages to be very funny throughout.

Nichijou
Like many works of fiction Nichijou is an allegory, but most allegories function on only two levels: the story itself and it's symbolic meaning. One of the remarkable things about Nichijou is that it functions on no less than four distinct levels. It can be enjoyed at face value as an expertly realized slice of life comedy, but it is also a bleak satire of the genre, a coming-of-age parable, and a treatise on confronting loneliness and uncertainty in the adult world. Early episodes bely the true nature of the series, and indeed after viewing the first few installments one wonders what all the fuss is about, as Nichijou appears to be nothing more than another ho-hum entry into the already overcrowded slice of life genre. But very quickly is becomes apparent that there is much more here than meets the eye, as a global conspiracy of literally Biblical proportions is slowly revealed in tandem with the degeneration of the main characters' psyche, illustrated...in a marvelous breakthrough use of animation...inside Mai's mind. As if this weren't enough, Nichijou is at the same time a revisionist parody of the slice of life show, even as it masquerades as a serious entry into genre. On a simpler level it is an extraordinary character piece, containing some of the most believable and involving personalities ever put to film, be it animated or live-action.

FLCL
>Why
FLCL is quite simply the greatest animation ever created, the animation is superb, the characters are simple but well developed within 6 episodes.
Overall the message of the show is pretty simple, it's about a kid, Naota Nandaba, who's learning about how to become an adult.
But the way it's communicated to the viewer is completely genius, the use of visual metaphors gives the show more of a personality and separates it from other shows that lazily use some shitty melodrama to develop their characters.
Also Mamimi is best girl and my waifu.

>>783461
It's only 6 episodes long, you can finish it in literally an afternoon.
>>783461
It's even more relevant now that a sequel anime has been announced. You should watch it so you can be prepared to watch the sequel as it airs, because people are going to be spoiling the hell out of it.
>>783469
Yes, this. Although I think it's best experienced if you spread it out a bit. Do an episode a day so you have nearly an entire week of FLCL.

2.Non Non Biyori
3. Centered around 4 girls who live in a small countryside town, the anime shows the daily lifes of the group of friends, who have different ages, playing and relaxing on their town, getting along and discovering the nature and the meaning of fun. The anime is noted by its remarkable use of beautiful backgrounds, using
detailed animation of nature and its elements. Worth a watch, really relaxing and fun, every girl is fun and cute on its own way.

Naruto of course
To call Naruto just an anime would be grossly undercutting it of the cultural, literary and philosophical impact it has had not only on the anime industry, but on both Japanese and Western society as a whole; Yuru Yuri is an anime, Evangelion is an anime, but Naruto...Naruto is a heart-wrenching emotional rollercoaster about our ostracized hero who never gives up despite the treatment he gets and how giving up would be easier. His catchphrase, "Believe it!", is small yet very clear proof of the multiple-layered and nuanced themes of the show regarding always striving to improve oneself, always proving your worth, standing up against evil, and ramen. Every character from Naruto to bystander #37 has their own ambitions and dreams, and are some of the most complex characters ever seen in an animated medium, unlike the bland template characters from Evangelion, constantly touted as "deep". The reason this show is despised among the "anime connoisseurs" of /a/ is most likely because they are incapable of understanding the complex themes of the show as a whole and will, like the uncultured cretins they are, mindlessly attack it before going back to their Lucky stars or whatever flavor of the month moe schlock they have decided to masturbate to that season. Perhaps moreso it's because by some miracle they can understand the themes, but it hurts them on a personal level; Naruto improves on a constant basis and learns from his mistakes, unlike /a/ (or they would truly appreciate Naruto for the cultural masterpiece it is). To conclude, Naruto is not just some animation, something to be mindlessly consumed; no, Naruto is a cultural masterpeice from the peoples of the east, and something that people, in years to come, people will meticulously study Naruto, and understand the impact it had across the world. It's perhaps the greatest anime ever made, and I invite everyone to personally experience it - you're life will change forever, I guarantee it.
