Alright Hiro, we did exactly what you told us to do yesterday. We made our threads as you instructed and we proved to you that the mods on boards such as /co/, /g/, /tg/, /qst/, /tv/, /v/ and /pol/ are in need of a massive overhaul of moderation, possibly even removing them from power if need be. So now what we need is what are you going to do about it? What exactly is your conclusion about all of this?

I'm praying to god that you're not going to bail on us yet again and not come back for another month. If you do need some help, have you ever considered getting a "spokesperson" or partner to help you out while you're busy?

Just please give us an answer
>>
seems he disagrees with you
>>
Nothing. LoL
>>
>>673005
>>673013
It was more or less annoying when he bailed threads about stupid shit, but dealing with the mods is serious. If he bails, the faith in Hiro will drop dramatically. People will be calling for him to sell the site. Or better yet, he makes someone else the Site Admin while he remains the owner of 4chan. He has to know someone who gives a shit about us and has no connections at all to the mods
>>
>>673028
You can always go to 8 chan, or 7 chan. I hear they might even still exist.
>>
There's been porn, guro, and cp shitting up /cgl/ for over a week and it just doesn't get deleted no matter how much it gets reported.
There's some posted right now that's been there for hours.
Our mods have never been great, but now we literally just aren't being monitored, even our janitor isn't bothering anymore.

That's why we need a massive overhaul of the mods period. Just remove them from power one by one and begin hiring new ones
>>
>>673052
I agree completely
p-please add /cgl/ to your list, we want actual content back
There's this bitch who posts in every single thread after 9pm and makes it impossible for anyone else to communicate in a thread
>>
>>673044
8ch is doing very well for itself actually. 7ch is DOA though
>>
>>673002
I think he's waiting for someone to make a thread with all the confirmed new rules and then wait for it to get stickied, if that makes sense

I feel only some boards can be egilable for this, as most board problems seems to be just from shit mods, like /pol/

But if you can get a thread up saying somthing like

Guide lines for posting on / /
Violation of these may lead to a ban
>Rule 1
>Rule 2
>Rule 3

And so on, i think hes waiting for that thread to be stickied
>>
>>673076
Well its not gonna happen. Mods showed yesterday they will not listen to anything Hiro says or does.
>>
>>673076
Besides, he owns 4chan so he should make the rules. We gave him everything he needed. We showed him all the proof as well. We the users of 4chan have been pushed around by the mods long enough. The mods either need to get in line and start respecting us, or lose their jobs that they do for free
>>
>>673078
Yeah this is a problem but you can press it, if you keep making it and it gets deleted then you'll most likly get banned, which is good because then you say
>"Hiro said we should"
Then you've got them in a corner, then its just a case of printscreening, waiting and telling hiro when he goes into the IRC, tweeting him on twitter or posting here

>>673079
I think he doesn't want to dictate, he doesn't want to case trouble, thats why he wants people to make it so he doesnt have to do anything but sticky somthing
>>
>>673095
>I think he doesn't want to dictate, he doesn't want to case trouble, thats why he wants people to make it so he doesnt have to do anything but sticky something
Then he needs a fucking spokesperson to help him out. He has to know someone who has the balls to step up. I mean WT Snacks would be a good choice, but his ties with the moderation staff are a liability.

>Then you've got them in a corner, then its just a case of printscreening, waiting and telling hiro when he goes into the IRC, tweeting him on twitter or posting here
Oh believe me I saved screenshots and all. Even counted down exactly how long the thread was up to the time it was deleted. What I found out was that the mods of /tg/ and /qst/ are one in the same. As in they always handed out a 15 minute ban citing GR10
>>
>>673076
>wait for it to get stickied

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>>
>>673063
>8ch is doing very well for itself actually

8ch has never done well for itself. An increase in traffic due to GooberGaters doesn't count. The boards were always shit quality, and the entire premise of the site is fundamentally flawed.
>>
>/tg/
>massive overhaul

What? /tg/ is one of the few boards that actually has pretty decent moderation. They just need to step up their activity to weed out /pol/bait more quickly.

/g/ on the other hand is just the technology counterpart of /v/. It wouldn't be so bad if maybe there were a board split to funnel all consumer generals off /g/, and maybe the mods started cracking down on all the retarded Nvidia vs. AMD vs. Intel flamewars.
>>
Regardless of whatever happens with the mods, there must be a push for moderation transparency. Make the ban logs public; tie it in with the appeals system for easy reference. Additionally, release janitor/mod chatlogs and /j/ threads in a quarterly archive, preferably a tarball.

Is /tg/ being moderated by Stanley Woo?

He left one up.

Then when it hit the bump limit, and then again when it fell off the board, any more that went up were deleted.

But that mod has a history of lying and manipulating the narrative to suit his own agenda, so this is nothing unexpected.

>>
>>673826
It gives mods free reign to delete it. Its a badly written rule unless the intent is to give mods free reign.
>>
Hiro where the fuck did you go you spineless shithead. Why the fuck did you buy this website anyway?
>>
>>673833
It's more like
>you can make Pokemon anime threads on /a/ sometimes
>you can make Pokemon vidya threads on /v/ sometimes
>but don't forget that you are scum and /vp/ is your eternal home

Except now
>you can make superhero comic threads on /co/ sometimes
>you can make superhero movie threads on /tv/ sometimes
>but don't forget that you are scum and /cpsht/ is your eternal home
>>
>>673838
Sometimes is the issue.
It basically allows mods to delete what they deem to be capeshit with free reign. And if that's the intent, fine, cpsht is a containment board.
If that isn't the intent, fucking reword the rule because its open to abuse.

Why am I even debating this, you're never getting this board.
>>
>>673843
>>673844
It seems to work for /vp/ (most of the time).
>>
>>673850
Why? Are you sure that /a/ wants them?
>>
>>673852
>/a/ doesn't want anime
The fuck?
>>
>>673850
>probably

So you don't know. Well, you're wrong. The number of "anime" superheroes is very low compared to western ones. Even when you include toku, which you probably don't even know exists.
>>
>>673854
Practically every anime character can be deemed superheroic in power level unless you're just talking about slice of life stuff. Which, let's face it, is a minority.

He's right, the whole board concept is nonsense.
>>
>>673853
Yes, there have been animes that /a/ didn't want, like Bleach and Naruto. Have you been living under a rock?
>>
>>673856
Having fantastical abilities doesn't automatically make someone a superhero. Spock and Harry Potter aren't superheroes, for example. I get the feeling that you don't actually have any point to make, but you still feel like arguing for the sake of arguing.
>>
>>673859
But those are both anime.
Why not just filter them or make generals?
It sounds a far better idea than this kinda toki, kinda anime, kinda marvel and DC cinematic universes containment board for autismals who can't use filters.
Sorry to be brutally honest.
>>
>>673861
Having fantastical abilities is pretty much precisely the defining quality of being a super hero.
Its certainly not clear cut enough as you think.
>>
>>673863
>But those are both anime.
Those are anime that /a/ doesn't want. And your previous argument was that there's no such thing as an anime that /a/ doesn't want. So after being proven wrong, what are you even arguing anymore?
>>
>>673866
So your argument is that Harry Potter and Spock are superheroes? I don't think that you're going to convince very many people to come around to your point of view.
>>
>>673870
Guess what? I just proved you wrong again. *leans back in chair smugly*
>>
>>673870
>There's no such thing as an anime that /a/ doesn't want.
>Here are two examples of anime that /a/ doesn't want.
>LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU
Are we done now?
>>
>>673856
You really sound like one of those people who has only ever seen a couple shonen anime and then decides they know everything about anime. Shonen is, in fact, the minority here. So KINDLY FUCK RIGHT OFF.
>>
>>673868
My point of view is that you are using two examples out of millions and the distinction isn't as clear cut as you perceive it.
>>673867
Why not put them in generals then?
Why not use filters?
Why does that make less sense than this Toku/Anime/Comics/WesternMovies clusterfuck?

The more I think about it, the more it just screams "a board for things I don't like" where "I" is a screaming autismal.
>>
>>673875
I went to /a/. Yes, I know, shame on me. You can find the appropriate response to my behavior here: >>673860
>>
>>673874
And you sound like you're about to give me a lecture on your mature cartoons for adults.
Please fucking don't.
>>
>>673876
You proposed a very clear cut distinction: Anyone with abnormal abilities qualifies as a superhero. What else am I supposed to do other than counter your argument with counterexamples?
>>
>>673880
Two counter examples out of millions.
And I can guarntwe there is an argument for both of your examples being at least if not more super heroic than "actual" heroes like Arm Fall Off Boy or Squirrel Girl.

My point is that you see the distinction as clear, but not everyone is you. And this containment board you are in favour of is in fact a nonsensical clusterfuck that solves no problems that generals and use of filters don't already deal with.
>>
>>673883
>And I can guarntwe there is an argument for both of your examples being at least if not more super heroic than "actual" heroes like Arm Fall Off Boy or Squirrel Girl.
Yes, you could make such an argument, if you really wanted to. I doubt you would actually believe in your argument that Spock and Harry Potter are superheroes though. You're just arguing that they are superheroes because you're bored and this makes for a good distraction. Oh well.
>>
>>673889
I'm not actually arguing that.
I'm saying that could be argued.

I'm saying that in order to illustrate that the distinction isn't as clear cut as you pretend it is.
And thus this capeshit board would be pointless.
>>
>>673045
>cp
Wanna bet it's not actual CP, just how there's only WEBMs and pics of 14year old actresses or so on /tv/?

I have yet to see any proof of actual CP on any board.
>>
>hiro was a mistake
Moot, 2016
>>
I want to bring up an idea from previous threads for your consideration:

Instead of drawing the line around "capeshit", what if the line were drawn around big media franchises that clearly cover more than one board?
>>
>>673899
That's a needlessly nebulous concept and it covers a fucking huge number of franchises that exist in multiple media.
>>
>>673897
I'm sure there'd be any amount of proof if there would be?
I can't say I vist all boards anyways, so I wouldn't know what exactly goes on /sp/ for example, but I do know that many like to exeggerate upon the usage of the word "CP".
>>673174
Is a good example of such confusion.

I'm not gonna deny there is CP around, but I have never seen it and a tear drops out of my dick because of it.
>>
>>673891
>I'm saying that could be argued.
I'm agreeing with you. Anyone can argue anything, no matter how pointless the argument or how little they believe in it. You're proving this right now with your own pointless argument that you don't even believe in. You COULD argue that Spock and Harry Potter are superheroes, but WHY would you want to? Would you really just be that bored?

>And thus this capeshit board would be pointless.
Go ask /co/ and /tv/ how they feel about live action superhero cinematic universes. They'll tell you that those poison the board in ways that generals and filters can't fix. They lead to endless company wars (Marleldrones versus DCucks), eternal meme-reposting (BANE?) and a rise in overall general ignorance regarding anything that doesn't come from a wiki article. If a new board causes the levels of shitposting in /co/ and /tv/ to decrease, then it clearly isn't pointless.

As for welcoming the toys and prose and animu, that's just so that the new board isn't ONLY a shitposting board.
>>
>>673905
I'm going to try this once more.
I am not arguing they are super heroes.
I am arguing tjhe distinction between what is and is not a superhero isn't as clear cut as you pretend it is. That's it. That's all.
Do you need this explained in fucking crayon?

>Generals and filters can't stop me being triggered by content I don't like
No board can cure your autism.
>>
>>673908
>I am not arguing they are super heroes.
I didn't say that you are.

What I wrote:
>You COULD argue that Spock and Harry Potter are superheroes, but WHY would you want to?
What you apparently read:
>You ARE arguing that Spock and Harry Potter are superheroes, but WHY are you wanting to?

There seems to be a fundamental disconnect between your reality and mine. If all you're going to do is misread me and insult me (rude, btw), is there any point to further discussion?
>>
>>673912
You have failed at every opportunity to address my central fucking point that the distinction between what constitutes a super hero and what does not is NOT as clear cut as you pretend.

Considering I have said this multiple times, I can't see how unless younare being wilfully obtuse or are fucking retarded.

No, there is no point trying to talk to you if you are going to fucking ignore my point repeatedly.
>>

>Having fantastical abilities is pretty much precisely the defining quality of being a super hero.

"No"

>In modern popular fiction, a superhero (sometimes rendered super-hero or super hero) is a type of costumed heroic character who possesses supernatural or superhuman powers and who is dedicated to fighting crime, protecting the public, and usually battling supervillains. A female superhero is sometimes called a superheroine (also rendered super-heroine or super heroine). Fiction centered on such characters, especially in American comic books since the 1930s, is known as superhero fiction.

>By most definitions, characters do not require actual supernatural or superhuman powers or phenomena to be deemed superheroes.[1][2][3] While the Dictionary.com definition of 'superhero' is "A figure, especially in a comic strip or cartoon, endowed with superhuman powers and usually portrayed as fighting evil or crime",[4] the longstanding Merriam-Webster dictionary gives the definition as "a fictional hero having extraordinary or superhuman powers; also: an exceptionally skillful or successful person".[5] Terms such as masked crime fighters, costumed adventurers or masked vigilantes are sometimes used to refer to characters such as the Spirit, who may not be explicitly referred to as superheroes but nevertheless share similar traits.

>Some superheroes use their powers to counter day-to-day crime while also combating threats against humanity from supervillains, who are their criminal counterparts. Often at least one of these supervillains will be the superhero's archenemy. Some long-running superheroes such as Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Wolverine, Green Lantern, The Flash, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man have a rogues gallery of many villains.

If it's DC and Marvel it's /cape/. Those universes are the only ones that need a board anyway. Spawn and shit are fine on /co/

anyone else feeling depressed by chans lately? i've posted on quite a lot and they've all ended up as failures.

most have become rulecucked by mods/owners who hate their users and want to micromanage what people can talk about, leaving most people afraid to make anything but the least controversial posts, many to leave the site, and those who agree with the staff to feel they can get away with anything.

others get abandoned by their owners, leaving shitty software that fails constantly and makes the site borderline unusable.

where boards can be run by users, the user-mods typically end up even more overmanaging than on other chans, like something out of reddit.

leaving no imageboard of any quality. a pity.

Get Trump to buy this site. He'll make 4chan great again.
>>
>>678593
For $5 a month you can start your own chan.

I have one, but the last post on it was two months ago and the last post on it by someone other than myself was last December.
>>
>>678604
Fellow chan owner.
It's hard to get activity.
The more well-known chans are so popular that people go to them instead of some slow one like mine, but advertisting is annoying and you have the potential to attract the kinds of people you don't want the userbase made up of.
There's no point in going to such slow chans like these because faster ones like 4chan exist and because of that any newer ones will never pick up.

Public ban ACK.

>calling Hiro a faggot
>>
>>678604
your second sentence proves why the first won't work. unless you have a niche or an amazing way of advertising, the vast majority of users won't even visit, let alone make a post, let alone stay.

i would like to see your chan though, or yours >>678621

It's fucking unbelievable that while the grand jew was admin of the site he would just ask him random friends to become moderators who would then go on tyrannical rampages "cleaning up" boards they either dislike or browse but want to change completely

>/tg/ and it's many, many nazi moderation spans where the rules were made up on the spot
>the various dudes on /a/ who decide they don't like loli/monster girls/yotsuba/whatever so start handing out bans
>redwood deciding nigger is an insta-ban for the entire site
>""""the inane garbage""" retard who terrorised /int/
>invisibro doing his best effort to turn the entire site into /r/4chan
>the huge discrepancy between one moderator saying "x is perfectly fine" then a day later another mod saying "x is permaban fodder"

Seeing as how easy it is to avoid bans, maybe it's time to make them all janitors and only allow them to delete posts and mute - with everything logged so hiro can weed out the agenda pushing nazis
>>
>>678835
Nobody ever gave a ban for Yotsuba.

Mods gave bans for passive-aggressive shitposting threads with Yotsuba in the OP like "WTF I CANT BELIEVE MODS BAN YOTSUBA NOW" but that's not the same thing.
>>
>>678843
*yawn*

Gee thanks for clearing up that one minor detail there chump- er champ. Really shines an ENTIRELY different light on everything. Really.
>>
>>678846
I live to serve.
>>
Well Hiro talked about the 404 today.

Basically confirmed that Hiro knows little about how important Yotsuba is to us. He needs to get a crash course in 4chan history.

Also he needs to be sent more proof of mod abuse
>>
>>678835
>Seeing as how easy it is to avoid bans, maybe it's time to make them all janitors and only allow them to delete posts and mute - with everything logged so hiro can weed out the agenda pushing nazis
no, even just deleting posts is too much censorship. for real improvement we need:
>all bans are publicly logged
>all deleted posts are archived and can be publicly searched
>all bans can be appealed (none of this "it's too short", which gets manipulated by the mods by deliberately giving a ban just too short)
>all appeals go to someone unconnected to the mod who gave them
>no deleting threads, just removing them from normal view, but with people still able to post in them and search them out
>occasional meta threads for each board where the staff have to answer user questions
>all bans have to have a written ban reason as well as specifying which rule was broken (no more mods just flagging every ban as "no x, y or z")
archives instead of deletions will allow users and hiro to make sure rules are impartial and bans are fair. no more pretending moderation is less invasive than it is.

finally:
>much more leeway for posters to post what they like. this doesn't mean spam or deliberate derailing, but no more bans for tangents or humorous threads that mods consider off-topic but posters are enjoying

Is your goal to fix 4chan or is your goal to have a place where you can actually have a good time and enjoy posting?

If the first one, why?
>>
Do you fucking idiots think you actually have it bad? Please browse /asp/ for once and then thank god that your boards are the way they are.
>>
>>678919
>Is your goal to fix 4chan or is your goal to have a place where you can actually have a good time and enjoy posting?

>If the first one, why?

I think he belives in 4chan the ideal which although admirable is flawed because the ideal has never really existed.
>>
>>678938
It really looks bad from an outsider perspective but then again most boards are decaying and becoming shitty or somehow transcending to levels of shittiness unheard of in human history.

Generals are proliferating more then ever.
>>
>>678938
who gives a shit about a normie meme board that could be discussed literally anywhere else on the internet?
>>
Just track the threads users are hiding and remove them automatically after a certain threshold. It's really easy
>>
>>678938
/asp/ has been fucking terrible.
>>
>>678864
He said that his favourite meme is Pedobear. He obviously knows better.
>>
>>678887
>all deleted posts are archived and can be publicly searched
Probably shouldn't archive the pictures, though.
>>
>>678919
Those are the same things.
>>
>>679016
you literally want 4chan to become reddit even more.
>>
>>679135
Wrong. You could have a nice place to post that isn't 4chan.
>>
>>679145
you can say but 4chan offers a certain "environment" but that train of thought becomes less legit as time goes on.
>>
Alright so I sent Hiro proof of mod corruption over on his twitter. He better damn well read it.
>>
>>679111
This is unironically how 4chan should work in general.

If something is deleted, even by the users who made it, just discard the picture and thumbnails and keep the text in an archive. Delete all links
>>
>>678593
>where boards can be run by users, the user-mods typically end up even more overmanaging than on other chans, like something out of reddit.

Not even kidding, I remember reading a psychological study that went over something identical to this. About how societies and governments run by the most people tend to be the most totalitarian, because that's the only way to give everyone what they want.

I don't know the study's name, though.
>>
>>679225
And do you think changing it would keep that the same?

>So now that we've told you some ways to improve the site, what are you going to do about it?
nothing. did you really think hiro was going to get off his lazy ass and actually do something?
>>
>>678147
/co/ mods are deleting all these threads on sight too despite Hiro saying makie threads.
>>
>>678160
>and against the global rules
His word supersedes the rules as he owns the site, regardless of whether anyone likes the idea; fortunately or unfortunately.
>>
>>680854
Probably because they don't want even the slightest possibility of anyone suggesting something that fucks up what they have right now

Just keep evading and reposting, they are worthless scum not worth even acknowledging.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few cancerous manchildren removed from the genepool.

I have no idea why any of the /asp/ies remain.

Well now Hiro has really fucked himself and made all his work skyrocket

He's going to have to fix almost every board now (which he won't do) due to his negligence. This is basically his faults (also the mods but you already know that)
