I would like to open up discussion on the effect of relaxed moderation on /mlp/ and how it has contributed to enabling low-effort posting and questionable deletions of otherwise on-topic threads.
Exhibit A: there has been a recent uprising of Starlight Glimmer thread spam that some users wrongfully decided to self-moderate by keeping them bumped in the hopes the mod and/or /mlp/'s janitors would do something about them. While such action as countering shitposts with more shitposts is ultimately counter intuitive, it does bring to question why these threads were permitted in the first place despite the obvious low-quality nature of them.
Exhibit B: Roleplaying, and variations thereof. In spite of the most recent rule clarification sticky, threads that open with "talking through the characters", or low effort greentext bait as it was referred to, have also continued to persist and rarely have moderation action taken against them.
Exhibit C: Off-topic/not show related threads and posts. Specifically non-pony related posts that happen to have a pony image attached, discussion about people from the fandom despite itself being against the rules (oftentimes being subtle personal army/hugbox requests like the whole KP drama that's been going on), and attempts to derail on-topic threads with off-topic images and replies such as with a recent lewd thread that was perfectly within the rules being spammed by pictures of real life human males yet the whole thread ended up getting purged despite not breaking any rules itself.

I get that "/mlp/ thrives under relaxed moderation", but there comes a point where it becomes too relaxed when threads that are of such low quality and still being allowed to clutter the already limited thread space already cluttered with generals as it is doesn't allow much room for on-topic quality discussion and content sharing.
>>
> /mlp/
Never have I so fast dropped reading something
>>
>>611945
You're not the only account of this happening I've heard of. It's starting to seem like the staff assigned to /mlp/ have become more and more disconnected from the board they're supposed to be monitoring.
>>
>>611950
That or you and the other Anon have.
>>
>>612122
At least I don't have delusions about a board that I got banned from belonging to me.
>>
>>612109
Impossible, I regularly spend 8-12 hours daily browsing and contributing.

>>611941
Further information on "off-topic" posting:
>>>/mlp/28042471
An /int/ thread that's been up for three days.
It was my understanding that foreign language threads were disallowed considering the nature of them makes it difficult for the staff to discern potentially rulebreaking posts. Furthermore, having page translation technology available revealed that much of the content in the thread in question has shown very little actual pony-related content is being posted (discounting "just pony images" with off-topic discussion).
The proper actions have been taken, including addressing the staff directly through feedback, and still the thread remains.

Other such cases include threads intending to spark up drama about specific "fandom celebrities". I've inquired if the allowance of these threads was made due to the popularity of the threads, as /mlp/ users make it a point of pride to gloat about their ability and support for causing such drama. Nevermind that they often link various social media accounts of the persons in question, virtually calling for raids without using the words and then bragging about such raids via screenshots posted in the thread.

>>612128
There's a difference between belligerently acting like a board belongs to oneself and expressing concern that the appropriate action of reporting low-quality threads cluttering the board is being inappropriately punished in return.
>>
>>611941
>A: Spam
Spam happens on every board and gets dealt with when it gets dealt with. Before Starlight it was Twilight spam or Baconhair spam or just the stupid faces. Retards trying to mini-mod has always been a thing as well.
>B: Roleplaying
Shocker that they didn't really enforce the excuse they put up when some retarded mod deleted half the board.
>C: Muh thread space
Fuck off. It takes 3-8 hours for a thread to fall off the board, no one giving a shit about your threads doesn't mean there's 'no room' for on-topic threads.
>>
>>611941
The mods have said you'll get better moderation when you stop seeking out barneyfag
>>
>>612147
>Spam happens on every board and gets dealt with when it gets dealt with. Before Starlight it was Twilight spam or Baconhair spam or just the stupid faces. Retards trying to mini-mod has always been a thing as well.
In this particular case, there was clear-cut evidence that moderation was happening toward other posts despite the persistence of spam. Including moderation against the people who were rightfully reporting the spam.
>Shocker that they didn't really enforce the excuse they put up when some retarded mod deleted half the board.
That doesn't dispute the need for moderation against low quality threads. After all, according to GR6:
>The quality of posts is extremely important to this community. Contributors are encouraged to provide high-quality images and informative comments.
>Fuck off. It takes 3-8 hours for a thread to fall off the board, no one giving a shit about your threads doesn't mean there's 'no room' for on-topic threads.
The length of time between threads falling off the board also doesn't dispute that low-quality or off-topic threads take up unnecessary space in an environment where it shouldn't have been allowed in the first place. No where did I imply it was any of my alleged threads being affected.

>>612148
I for one do not support the subtle posting of MLP-related content on other boards as bait for barneyfag or any other reasons.
>The mods have said
I would however like to see a source on this. Though it would seem hypocritical that they (the mods) would generalize all pony shitposters on other boards as being /mlp/'s responsibility entirely considering one mod and moot himself pointing out that the majority of shitposters never even visit /mlp/.

Fandom celebrity threads:
>>>/mlp/28064969
>>>/mlp/28065110
Made 12 minutes apart from each other. No effort to search the catalog and ensure this topic (despite already being fandom related and off-topic anyway) didn't already have a thread up considering both thread makers needed to get that hot steaming drama to the board ASAP since it's a popular activity. What have we learned about popular activities? They get a pass as long as it's not porn.

Friendly reminder to anyone still lurking or joining:
report and ignore the spam. Do not reply to the threads or make threads complaining about it. Calling attention to it and expressing that it's upsetting you in anyway will only encourage more spam.
>>
>>612336
Send feedback, let the staff know it's getting out of hand, point them in the direction of this thread to show that more and more users are getting fed up with it.
If we're going to get anything done about it, we're going to need to make our voices heard.

Guys pls, just remain calm and try to react reasonably here. We need to show we can keep a level head and talk about these issues maturely.
>>
Another interesting development: after more of the Glimmer thread spam cropped up, a porn thread was posted and promptly deleted within several minutes. Most of the thread spam still on the board, though close to archiving naturally (nobody bump any of it. Our mission here is to politely discuss our concerns, not promote the shitposting we're concerned about), two of the KP threads archived naturally and one still persists as basically a pissing match over one fandom famous person.
>>
Realistically, there are a lot of moderators on 4chan staff and it might well be the case that one of them or even none of them are MLP fans.

I have no idea what Glimmer is and I wager most mods don't either.
>>
>>613246
I'm aware of at least one mod who 'regularly' visits the board, if only to post and monitor the episode sticky.
Mods aside, I'm fairly sure all boards besides /qa/, [s4s], and /b/ have a couple of janitors who were hopefully pulled in from users of the boards themselves. Surely they at least would know when shit's gone bad.

But that is the intended purpose of this thread is collectively trying to bring it to the staff's attention for a higher quality posting environment.

The need has to be shown for there to be a need to dispute it.

I do believe that mods support the spam of glimmer threads
in fact, two threads complaining about it were deleted
one was a porn thread and the other one was just a couple of minutes ago...it was about if gilimmer threads were gonna stop or not(a meta thread)
and the glimmer threads are still around there.....20 more or less when everything could be contained in one or two generals
>>
It took 16 hours, but the spam was finally pruned. For 16 hours, 1/3 of the board was threads that needed to be purged.
It wasn't an absence of moderators, either. We know this since they were pruning porn within minutes and handing out warnings for reporting the spam.

Either moderate the board as it should be, or leave it completely and let us self-mod.

>>
>>612224
I personally don't see what the problem is with those threads, except that there were two at once. That particular bit of drama even got picked up by mainstream pony news like EqD, who generally like to keep their hands clean of that stuff.
>>
>>618138
Threads about people aren't allowed, and for a couple reasons:

People tend to talk more about the people themselves rather than the content they make, either leading to a masturbatory circlejerk over celebrity or else turns into a shitflinging match about drama.
These KP threads in question have consistently been a recruitment effort for a personal army of drama-loving shitposters to rally against KP, consistently made by the animators she fucked over or their friends for the sake of taking advantage of /mlp/'s mindless love of drama to turn it into a fucking hugbox to console themselves over their retarded mistake of working with her to begin with. And I don't appreciate the idiotic hypocrisy that users insist 4chan isn't a hugbox, but will turn around and supply somebody a fucking hugbox because "it'll bait more drama".
>>
Porn thread up for 11 hours finally deleted, other porn and shitpost threads sprung up around that time. I'm beginning to wonder how many janitors we actually have for /mlp/.

This may not be the best time to mention I have several sources of second-hand information that indicates in the case of extensive porn threads and (allegedly) lazy staff members, often times the only one who gets banned is the OP of the thread. Meanwhile any other posters who participated in breaking rules within the thread face no repercussions. I feel that may set a bad example where as long as you aren't the OP and the thread started by breaking the rules, it pretty much gives the ok for others to break them as well. In the thread that was deleted for instance only a handful of earlier posts were deleted.

On a slightly related note, a dispute came up regarding the range an image could be considered "anthro" to the extent it's viable for deletion.
The image in question: https://derpiboo.ru/1218725
Tagged here as anthro, though I question the accuracy of that website's tagging and the artists' intent vs what would be considered anthro here.
Another image that has been frequently deleted as anthro: https://derpiboo.ru/1128095

In both cases, I have used the "catgirl" comparison where the animalistic additions of ears, tails, and wings are not prominent features whereas the human aspect is clear and defined.

Further evidence I would offer would be a previous sticky denoting what the range of anthro is: https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/11331670

According to the mod at that time 4 on that chart was "pushing it", but was otherwise acceptable as being near-fully humanized.
A number of other users have voiced opposing views on the matter, for which they are free to share in this thread as it is one meant for open discussion about these issues. I'm sure either party would appreciate some direct input by somebody from the staff. As unlikely as that may be.
>>
>wanting more moderation
>not wanting more ponies
The Scruffenning and the smaller ones that suceeded it were caused by /mlp/ moderation. Hell, /mlp/ was caused by moderation of ponies.

Face it, you can't regulate the pone.

Also,
>not wanting porn
>>
>>621805
Yes, the occasional "nightly porn dumps" would last anywhere between a couple hours to overnight. Cooled down relatively speaking since the introduction of /trash/.

Still, that particular thread was started a few hours after mid-day server time. I've noticed a peculiar consistency where moderation activity usually takes place in the very early morning hours.

>>621808
Quality control would help keep the board from stagnating into shitposts and thread spam.
Aside from generals, the rest of the board tends to suffer from such low quality :^)

>>
>>621827
Whoa I never said we should get another scruffening. Cracking down on the few stray off-topic or spam threads that pop up every once in a while is hardly on such a caliber as deleting swathes of content the majority of the board likes.
Quite frankly, for all intensive purposes the board might as well be just generals. There's plenty of characters and ideas to base them on and clearly they hold themselves to higher standards than random threads with a /b/-like mindset ;^)

I think you should all find something better to do than sitting on that board all day

>>612232
It means it bothers them. Get either a proxy 4chan hasn't detected yet or an isp that's dynamic and keep doing it as a fuck you them. If you want it clear whether it's the mods or you who are being faggots, sort threads by creation date while doing it and report the first 1 after the oldest that isn't image or bump-limited since they might argue the 1s ahead of that technically aren't spam at that point.

Well duh, MLP is a show for children and the content shared about it should be equally safe to post. Random, off-topic threads add nothing of value to the board's subject. The generals would be a prime example of pure quality since they offer structure and order in an otherwise messy, disorganized environment. And pornography is just filthy, ponies are cute and pure and not for sexual deviancy. Hopefully we have mods who take their jobs very seriously, so that we may correct this erroneous mishandling of /mlp/. :^)

>>>/mlp/28127535
Mostly discussion about something completely unrelated based on the loose reasoning that "a reference happened". Exploiting loopholes, just like good ol' /v/.

What I take away from this is as long as it's going to fall off the board soon anyway, or as long as the thread has enough activity, why should the site staff have to do their jobs to discourage it in the first place? And I know there has been staff online, since the bans page had a couple other posts that got deleted including an anthro post and a post of somebody roleplaying as one of the characters attempting to spark a religion debate. Ironically, that last one was deleted for "off-topic" and not roleplaying despite several blatantly off-topic threads still up.

Interesting development spurred up by a particular fan comic regarding what constitutes anthro for the "no anthro" rule.

Interestingly, the comic features a non-pony, non-human character from the older generations and as >>629977 said the janitors or mod deleted complaining and left the thread/OP image up.
>>>/mlp/28174583
It is clearly a sexualized fan depiction of the character, however I'm not implying it should be banned as anthro. It is just fan art of an actual character in the franchise after all. I would just like to point out the inconsistency once more in that the moderation team has deleted and enforced warnings for anthro in these cases: >>620948 wherein the images were fan depictions of the EqG characters "ponied up". >>
Let me point out the hypocrisy here:
>>>/mlp/28230854
This is literally fanart of an EqG character in a form she was in during the movie. It is tagged on derpibooru as being "ponied up", a term used in the movie, and is not tagged as anthro https://derpiboo.ru/1128095
>>>/mlp/28174583
This is literally fanart of a G1 villain in a more sexualized style. Quite clearly labeled as anthro here https://derpiboo.ru/1226727
But again, I'm not arguing that Pencils' contribution should be deleted. I'm pointing out that fan-art of the most recent movies that depicts the characters in exactly the same form they were in the movies does not fall under 4chan's definition of "anthro" and shouldn't be deleted.
>>
>>639383
Obviously if they keep deleting that picture than it does fall under 4chan's definition of anthro. Why else would it get constantlly deleted and get ppl warning.
>>
>>639386
I can't stick around to debate this for now, but I've made several points regarding why the deletion of that pic is faulty here: >>620948
I'd also like to point out that there was a previous issue where certain staff were deleting bipedal screenshots from the show as anthro, have deleted screenshots from EqG as anthro, and somebody who posted MLP on /mlp/ getting banned for posting MLP outside of /mlp/

The problem is the mods are only human and have made mistakes before, besides the probability that the one mod who makes the episode stickies isn't the only one who reviews reported posts. There is in the past recorded staff bias against /mlp/, which would make for unbalanced or undue punishment by parts of the staff that have no interest in the subject or else have ill will toward that particular group of users.

>>>/mlp/28231661
It's not hypocritical to want a fair and balanced posting environment while being against blatant disregard for the rules.
>>

>>
>>639383

>>
>>639587
Actually neither of those are acceptable according to the mods.
The last thread with the comic was only tolerated because of the popularity of the comic.
If you check the other Catrina thread it was taken down by the mods
http://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/28177321
Obviously the mods don't agree with your last statement for neither case.

>>639383
Just because YOU think it doesn't fall within 4chan's definition doesn't mean it makes it okay.
If the mods are constantly removing those types of pictures than it should tell you it is NOT okay to post.
>>
>>639613
mods should remind themselves of and re-post this for all the newfags of /mlp/
https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/11331670
and update it to include EqG (4.5)

as far as lewd and porn pics goes, there is /trash/ for that stuff
I think all greens should stay in /mlp/, otherwise it will be deader than a cemetery outside of mlpg
instead of deleting lewd and porn threads, just move them to /trash/ with the statement that if OP and contributors continue to post porn in /mlp/ they will get a 30 day ban or something
that might encourage them to post in /trash/ more

green prompt threads should state that it's a prompt for any writefags that wish to take on the story
>>
>Come back to reply here on /qa/ and find this
Th-thanks, senpai, I'm proud to admit that's the first warning I've ever gotten and only the second time I was moderated. But I called it was either going to be that pic or GR 8. Surprised you only permasaged and didn't just delete the whole thing. I'll go back to being a good boy, I'm sorry for my little tantrum :^)

>>639587
Thanks, as I was trying to send earlier I wholeheartedly believe that. Which is why I found it peculiar that a fan art of that canon depiction keeps getting deleted. I may have over reacted a tad due to lack of sleep last night and finding out it happened again despite the Pencils thing (mostly) scrapped by.

>>639613
I thought that thread was deleted because it pretty much derailed into shitposting about anthro and the rules?

In any case, I think it's kind of dumb that a fan art for a canon-depiction of a character is getting deleted. I can understand if it was something like a human body with a clearly defined muzzle or visibly has fur instead of skin. I can also understand why EqG fan art might be a bit of a grey area because of the bizarre skin tone choice they went with.
I would just appreciate an official statement on the matter: why that pic specifically always gets deleted, re-clarification on how far on that old scale is "too far" now and how far is EqG's fan art tolerable.
>>
>>639623
They don't need to update since they themselves no longer follow that chart. And to be frank, 4 will get deleted. Anything below a 5 on that chart tends to be in danger of deletion. I've seen it happen with all of Shepard's anthro pictures which are done in the style of 4.

It's dumb banning any type of MLP artwork period. There's no legitimate reason to keep anthro art work out of /mlp/.
As for your official statement bit, aren't they telling you to chill out enough statement?
>>
>>639627
Also I'd like to have clarified what "obnoxious sperging". If it's the complaining, I usually reserve bitching for off-site, on /qa/, or through feedback.
Or did you mean the rulefagging? Because I can give up the tripcode password and never reply to porn threads again. All you have to do is put on that lil' purple palm tree and give the word. I know it'd certainly make a large portion of the userbase happy ;^)

>>639640
That warning was only for the complaining apparently. I don't agree that outright anthro should be allowed. Rather that something that's almost directly derivative of official material should be perfectly alright according to the rules and previous mod statements.

that's the issue here
by having everyone on the same page, it will help keep threads on topic, less arguing (eventually) and the mods won't be spammed with reports, making their jobs that much easier
2 gets deleted because of people reporting it as "anthro" and the thread gets shitposted to death or mods delete it because of the shitposting
EqG (4.5) should be allowed because all they have are pony ears and/or wings
no tails, no muzzles, no fur, no hooves, which all constitute as definitive anthro/furry

also, you can like anthro and NOT be a furfag
>>

And yeah, the mods are telling you to chill out on the topic that you're complaining about. I think it's a pretty clear and cut case.

You gotten over your depression or is this an attempt at getting some attention?

>>
>>639654
Specifically, the board as it is should be perfectly fine. Discussion and content related to ponies, or humanized, or EqG are all allowed. Anthro is by and large unnecessary to be directly posted. Although I have seen people share links to anthro pics perfectly fine. There's also >>>/trash/ now so that's an onsite alternative, just like with porn.

>>639655
Have you been reading the rest of the thread? This isn't about having a rule changed, I'm only asking for clarification why certain pics are deleted as anthro while occasional exceptions are not.

So you want attention then? Gotcha. The mods told you to chill and you got off with a warning. Let it go and quit breaking the rules rulefag.

No, I want a fair and balanced posting environment in accordance with the rules.
Meta discussion is allowed on /qa/ last I checked.

I remember that. It wasn't depression, I had a drinking problem at the time. And as everyone knows being under the influence tends to amplify feelings about shit and I was feeling a bit down because I lost contact with a close friend of mine and hadn't been contributing to the board like I used to. I've since picked back up on it, albeit just a little bit at a time. But this isn't the place for blogging.

Don't recall you mentioning the drinking problem. Still don't like you rulefag, but glad your getting over the bump in your life.

OT, a 4chan mod has given you your answer and while this board specifically is for discussion regarding 4chan lets be completely honest with one another for a moment, do you really expect the mods to answer you?

The best you can do is accept it, the way I've accepted that /mlp/ will never be a red board, or continue pushing for it and end up getting a ban.

I'll give you points for going up the coc instead of jumping straight to hiroshimoot though although at the same time I can't help but laugh that you of all people are getting upset about the mods enforcing a rule.

Good luck to you ks. ^:)

>>639706
The best way to bring the community's concerns to the site staff's attention is by working together to express these concerns. I've tried using feedback multiple times, but the last time that was used was almost a year ago, and this thread itself is almost a month old with no response. There's strength in numbers and as much of a Herculean task as it may be, I will try to get as much of the board to work together. It's not on behalf of allowing porn which makes it significantly harder to get users to agree on anything, but hopefully we can encourage the staff to start addressing our concerns directly sometime in the future.

Or the mod can show up at any time and just say the word and I'll stop. My dedication may have faltered over the years, but I've never truly given up hope in the board. Were I to discover that the staff really doesn't give a shit about /mlp/ and know for sure that any effort I put into it was in vain, I think it would be enough of a push to know it's not worth trying anymore.
>>
>>639652
>by having everyone on the same page, it will help keep threads on topic, less arguing (eventually) and the mods won't be spammed with reports, making their jobs that much easier
>2 gets deleted because of people reporting it as "anthro" and the thread gets shitposted to death or mods delete it because of the shitposting
The problem with 2, I think, is that it may be straying too far off the pone design. I think it may come across as too human in shape. But to be fair I haven't seen many of those get the can nowadays. Only those are dangerously towing the line tend to draw attention
>EqG (4.5) should be allowed because all they have are pony ears and/or wings
EqG is allowed. It's just that certain artwork depicting the characters may push into that unacceptable threshold that the staff follows. It's a combination of all you listed PLUS the pony coloration that stays it away from things like catgirls. It also a of matter people reporting the pictures, I've literally seen anthro porn pictures go to the archive because they weren't reported.
>no tails, no muzzles, no fur, no hooves, which all constitute as definitive anthro/furry
Not quite. I've said this a lot of times but it matter from community to community. Some have a low threshold of what is accepted and others have a higher threshold. I'm gonna break your points down based on derpibooru's standards since we're talking MLP.
>no tails
There's anthro pictures with no tails.
>no muzzles
There's anthro pictures with human faces. If we go by Derpibooru take, they have a "human facial structure" tag for such pictures. Also "ambiguous facial structure".
>no fur
Not all anthro pictures have fur. Hell, you could look up the "tanlines" tag on derpibooru and see a bunch of anthro pics.
>no hooves
They have a tag for that. I think it's called plantigrade anthro
At least that's the standard for Derpibooru. As you can see it varies. Now on 4chan, I'm not verri sure. I've seen it vary a lot.
>>
>>639652
>too many people see anthro mlp art as a "crack in the wall" for "furfags" to crawl through and "flood" the board
I rarely see any furfag crap on /mlp/. I'd be more concerned about Glimmerposting. That's just me.
>ironically, there are many "furfags" on /mlp/ already, it's just not brought up until we have "what is anthro?" like threads
What do you mean?
>Specifically, the board as it is should be perfectly fine. Discussion and content related to ponies, or humanized, or EqG are all allowed. Anthro is by and large unnecessary to be directly posted. Although I have seen people share links to anthro pics perfectly fine. There's also >>>/trash/ now so that's an onsite alternative, just like with porn.
SFW anthro art should be allowed. How is it unnecessary when it makes up a pretty good chunk of MLP fanart? If you think it's unnecessary than non-EqG humanized is unnecessary as well.
>Have you been reading the rest of the thread? This isn't about having a rule changed, I'm only asking for clarification why certain pics are deleted as anthro while occasional exceptions are not.
The only exception so far has been that Pencil's picture. IIRC the mods did delete a page about Satyrs on that comic. It may have been left alone because it's a popular comic made by a /mlp/ poster, maybe. Depends on what the other Catrina topic was deleted. Or maybe someone should make another Catrina topic. It would be nice if we had a clear and cut definition but seeing as the staff is responding to said pics I think we can easily conclude where they stand. As mentioned, if they told you to chill out about bitching about the rules it may show where they stand on the issue.
>>
>>639740
Didn't pencils say he got a warning for the satyr picture because of the nip slip? I recall the second time he posted it he made the nip pasties bigger.
>>
>>639728
>EqG is allowed
I know that, I'm just saying that people with low thresholds (like you stated) like to bitch about it

>that break down
this just proves why we need a definition of anthro for mlp art postings
I didn't mean that there weren't pics with and without combinations of that list, but regular definition of what 4chan considers anthro is different than mlps

>>639740
>What do you mean?
I've seen plenty of people say they're a furfag on mlp (or maybe it's the same guy over and over)

Catrina is mlp related and therefore she should be allowed
same should go for any other "furry" characters from previous mlp generations
>>
>>639740
It's unnecessary because the show itself has never depicted them in such a form.
>non-EqG humanized
The difference is cartoon/drawn humans and art about them has always been allowed on the site. Various degrees of anthropomorphic characters are allowed within reason, like such characters on /co/ for instance, because that's the style of certain cartoons.
>if they told you to chill out about bitching about the rules it may show where they stand on the issue.
Yeah it shows they don't like people bitching about moderation. It doesn't clearly address the issue at hand, which is whether or not they really consider that image anthro. I'll state again that moderation mistakes have been made before regarding a number of other issues. Not to say I fault them for making occasional mistakes. I only hope they pick up on the mistakes as learning experiences and give a little more attention to what they are banning.

Yes, but also notice that the specifically call you out for sperging about it.
Again, you keep saying it's a mistake but at the frequency it happens I doubt it.
Were there mistakes in the past? sure. You mentioned bi-pedal ponies but I see plenty in the catalog and I don't believe that is much of an issue anymore. On the other hand try making a topic with those types of pictures and see how it goes.

Anyways, if you want even further proof remember this topic?
desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/28120826/
I think that was you, wasn't it?
Well, I got a warning over that topic over....
You guessed it
>Pic related
Now if it's a occurrence that keeps happening. If those pictures keep getting taken down, even if it was a draw request, if warnings are issued, etc. Do you think it is a mistake? Or maybe it is intentional for a reason. I don't think they're doing it because the mods don't know better. They're doing it because that's teh rules.
Even through they may not physically say it I believe their actions speak it loud and clear
>>
>>640008
>specifically call you out for sperging about it.
Because I made a thread on /mlp/ specifically to point it out.
>You mentioned bi-pedal ponies but I see plenty in the catalog and I don't believe that is much of an issue anymore
Obviously, several users came together and sent feedback explaining the issue. After it was resolved bipedal ponies could be posted again.
>remember this topic?
Yes, though I'm more hesitant to defend that particular image over the Fluttershy one because that one is actually tagged as anthro on derpibooru.
>They're doing it because that's teh rules.
And Equestria Girls isn't supposed to be against the rules. If certain types of fan art is being declared as anthro despite being based on how the characters were depicted in official material, an upfront clarification would be very much appreciated so the users can avoid posting such content.

I am trying to work within the system to allow for as much possible content sharing to be had on the board. In this thread by itself it may just seem like vehemently defending one single picture, but in the bigger context this could affect a variety of images that could be posted. This one case of a ponied up character being deleted could lead to instances where any art showing a character ponied up would be deleted as anthro. Especially if it's not a screencap or vector. I would rather nip this in the bud now than see it escalate to that point later.

So what, exactly, is your end game?
You say you're trying to say you're trying to bring community concerns to the mods.
First, what does Derpibooru's tagging have to do with 4chan? 4chan is NOT derpibooru nor do we follow their guidelines.
Second, you're the only one with this one specific concern, no one else on /mlp/ is bitching about it. EqG is not all that well liked on /mlp/ and one very small subset of pictures aren't on most people's radars. As a matter of fact, most of /mlp/ would probably agree with the mods. Less EqG material is always good.
Third, most people h8 you for being a rule loving faggot. Now that you're bitching about the rules no one is going to support whatever nonsense you're peddling. It takes away any legitimacy on whatever grievance you have.
Fourth, the mods have responded to you. They told you to stop sperging out about it. You fail to realize that it's not just complaining about it, but just bitching about it in general and the sperging out comment is them telling you to calm the fuck out.

There is a clearly defined disparity among users over what should or shouldn't be considered anthro.
>derpibooru's tagging
Is being used here as a general guideline for reference.
>you're the only one with this concern [...] EqG is not all that well liked [...] Less EqG material is always good
Besides there being at least two other users who have tried posting about it, the biggest concern is the undue limitation on allowable content.
Last I saw there was a survey done where the sample size polled was fairly evenly split three ways between liking it, not liking it, and not particularly caring either way.
"Less content I don't like is good" sounds like a case of "stop liking what I don't like" to me. On a slightly related note it always blows my mind the amount of cognitive dissonance certain users display when they'll tell others to just hide threads they don't like if it happens to have content they like, but would fully support moderation against content they themselves don't like.
>most people hate you for being a rule loving faggot
The majority of which I'm sure are pornfags who disregard the rules anyway. Tu quoque to them for bitching about me supposedly only "enforcing" select rules I agree with, when they do exactly that. The difference here is I'm not working against any rule, I'm pointing out an inconsistent enforcement of one.
>They told you to stop sperging out about it
That was the first instance I ever tried bringing it directly to their attention by posting a thread about it on the board and only the second time IIRC that I brought up inconsistencies of labeling EqG images as anthro.
One single case where I was being disruptive by posting a thread that was going to get pruned anyway. They didn't even delete the thread nor any of the pics I posted. Beyond that, all of my meta concerns have been contained mostly here on /qa/.

Yet another KP thread about drama that happened almost a month ago.
Honestly, if board rule 3's stipulation about people from the fandom is rarely enforced they might as well amend it.
>When discussing people, they must be associated with the show and not the fandom*.
>*unless the discussion gets an arbitrary number of replies, we wouldn't want to upset the already castrated userbase by depriving them of old-ass drama
Might be a touch too melodramatic. :^)

Fuck it, I'm drunk, so my judgement is hardly relevant, but I'd say I've experienced exactly what you're talking about, OP.

I used to be a frequent poster both of and in the diaper pony threads on /mlp/, and I'm aware of a heavy Janitorial bias against those specific rule-abiding threads. (These threads were all safe for work and free or RP, while threads like /AiE/ and Flutterrape flourished)

Nowadays we've got /trash/ (where we can post even "objectionable" content like messy diapers or even outright scat if that's your fancy), so arbitrary board-specific enforcement of the rules doesn't affect me personally, but I'll definitely agree it has been an issue, and almost certainly still is.

Here's another suggestion: threads asking to be spoonfed (I.E. I would advise such threads be banned, since anyone actually interested in getting back into the series does not need approval for it and looking for that approval by making a thread about it is likely seeking attention, and anyone asking about what they missed out on ought to be SoL for not being present to actually catch happenings.
