The key to a good OP isn't "quality prose," that's for sure. It's nothing so simple as that.

You need a message that can immediately capture one's attention without being blatant attention begging, and attach a picture that's relevant to the topic. An interesting OP picture can work wonders, but remember that you shouldn't use a pic more interesting than the argument itself.
In any case, never post a line of greentext with a picture of Pepe and nothing else. That gets everyone mad.

No but autists become more interested to the topic if you post a picture related with the board's theme. For example in /a/ no one gives a damn about your thread how good it is unless it has an anime image.

The easiest way is using subtle baiting, if enough people respond an actual discussion will spark in the thread.

You gotta think of your thread as a product. If you want your threads to be popular, you need to think like an ad-man.
