>the web 1.0 era of countless forums covering all kinds of niche topics is over and never coming back
why live?

You have to move on.

There is reason to stay. The dawn of VR internet awaits us
Gotta appeal to as many people as possible with a mini internet so you can get them advertising bucks.

i liked anonymous more than forums. i didn't like the circle jerk culture or how people try to keep up an identity. i wanted to see what people thought and felt when they didn't have to pretend
>never coming back
isn't that what reddit is right now anyway? countless random forums for every niche

I usually don't have to try, this has come to over time to just by myself.

Too bad that doesn't really happen anymore. People would rather parrot the popular opinions of their usual haunts to fit in these days. Now most of the people who speak their own mind are so disconnected from reality they're not really worth listening to.

everything people do originates from within them. all you need is for there to be some inconsistency or for them to not be as rigid to understand
>>1581117
They're just lazy and want to fit in.

Do NOT compare Reddit to classical forum culture, you trash.

Reddit is an awful example because it's all under one umbrella and there's one universal account for everything. There are global authorities that preside over the whole thing so it's nowhere like the frontier age of the internet. People need their own websites.

there's a bunch hosted on network54, pretty cool to see them still hanging on somewhere
