That Ylilauta "created" his is irrelevant as it was /bant/ that made him anything beyond a random image, and while he's the most successful of the nuPepes, that's like saying that he's the best shit from a toilet.

You know what his purpose was? The exact same one as Blepe, Simon, and Borche - mock frogposters while attempting to displace them. Apu threads were made to be a parody of frog threads, but they became so frequent and self-absorbed that they were as annoying as the real thing, accumulating to the time they tried to take over the board. They're all uninspired junk that ignores the fact that it isn't the skincolor and deformity of the character that's the problem, it's the very idea of an attention-grabbing image macro like the frog and the cancerous types of users it attracts.
