How do I become a 1337 programmer? What's a good language to learn? I want to make cool programs and websites and generally get clued up on the tubes and stop being dumb.

Python or Ruby are easy to pick up and are a decent place to start if you want to make a career out of it.

Processing is a great tool for learning, and will get you putting cool graphics onscreen really quickly.
