This is 4chan. They're kids. It's not a secret to anyone mature enough to notice. They assume their misconceptions and the falsest things are facts because it makes them feel better. They want to be right about the things they say in as little time as possible, that means thinking on deeper levels is out of the question. When mods fall to the level of those kinds of people, they aren't fit to wield the power they have. it all goes downhill because mods and users start to live in a world where garbage doesn't feel like garbage. They distance themselves from the basics of reality, become unlikable people to themselves and everyone around them, and then they wonder why so many of them are upset. The way 4chan has been run is basically a direct path to eventual misery for everyone who stays involved long enough.

If /a/ wasnt filled with generals it would be filled with cancerous template bait threads. generals facilitate discussion. the problem comes when namefags start posting and the inside jokes overtake discussion of the show. Generals are great, but they have an expiration date.
