Well I do make it a point not to skip OPs and EDs whenever I watch anime.
Now I haven't seen Strike the Blood so I can't judge it but isn't it fine for OPs to hint toward future plot development? Mix in some good music and nice visuals, OPs can hype you up for the story.
As long as it's not some in-your-face reveal, I don't think OPs can spoil anything.

I agree. I like analyzing OPs to see what they can reveal. Most of the time they just hint at things.
