An idea for /qa/.
Bumps only bump threads 2 pages instead of bumping it to the top of the front page.
Staged bumping is something people have been considering on /qa/ for months now.
Why does every response have to bring your post up to the front page? Given server resources you could even have a way of determining the level of freshness a thread has and automatically assign a bump level to it.
