How do you become a figure artist? Is it just hobbiests who find

Get good at ZBrush and find someone with a stereolithography machine so you can make your own.

If you want a job I imagine you just submit a portfolio and application to a figure company.

Make your own shit. You could probably make good bucks on it, and make deals personally with the creators (instead of companies representing them)
