I started using it a lot in 2008 to watch Naruto episodes after a power failure resulting in a missed episode.
I didn't use it much otherwise.

Since '95 Got my first computer and my grandma got us AOL. I didn't do too much online until really '98 other than play some of my Windows '95 games as well as Doom online during that time.

As for my favorite year or at least online era.
I really liked the early '00s getting on NewGrounds and getting into Flash Animation and Flash Games as well as started getting on here in '04 after my friend Tyrone showed me this place at the public library. Also the early years of YouTube were pretty good from '05 - '07.

Same poster, I wanted to add I also really miss the days of Yahoo Messenger! I used to go into the fight room and troll as well as get on the mic just screaming at people. Used to do a lot of major trolling on chat rooms as well as a site called ChatHouse a lot in the early '00s.

I remember having to download everything to experience it at all. Such as streaming wasn't as easy to come across at all. Trying to download the Saw movies on BearShare and getting nothing but Scat Porn videos actually ended up watching "2 Girls, 1 Cup" before it was famous. It was hard to explain to friends that watched it in the same room with me for the first time when I go "Hey, I've seen this shit before". lol

MySpace and Bebo was better than Facebook.
I miss getting these group of girls to show their boobs from Scotland.

I'll break with norms and give a serious response.

My dad showed was an early computer enthusiast in the 1980s and introduced me to the BBS sphere in probably 1991 where he used to discuss things typical of that time and play chess while smoking cigars. My memory of it is fuzzy obviously. We used to keep the computer, an AT&T 6300, in the garage because it was still at that time considered uber nerd shit that women didn't like.

I began using the net myself just before AOL burst onto the scene and remember that time period vividly. I was the first person at my school to be tech literate and installed several computers for them in 1994/95 when it was still a novelty. Back then, I was the expert, and the prototypical shitlord.

These days its so different I have trouble relating to it beyond holdouts like chansites where lonely oldfags congregate.

My favorite years on the net were 2000-2007.

Around 2008-2009
I wasn't allowed to use computers until I was 12, and I didn't have any friends until middle school. I lost those friend shortly afterwards but by that time I had gotten my own computer.
