>if /a/ hates an anime, it's good

How true is this?

not a hivemind
It's not really possible to generalize something like that because it varies show to show.
/a/ tends to hate series more for the behavior of fans than content itself. I think the only thing truly commonly hated are the action shonens like Naruto/Boruto, DBZ and BnHA chiefly because their threads are primarily full of either hooting and hollering shitposty types or manchildren who actually take such hugely contrived cash cow kid's shows super seriously and want discussion about entire facets of writing and plot design that the rest of the board grew out of years ago - no fight scene in an action-shonen really means much in the end; it feels like we've seen some variance of the same handful of plot directions a hundred times etc.
Most of all though is that there is a divide between the manchildren/actual underage in action shonen threads and the rest of the board. They are cooped up in generals because they know they just get ridiculed endlessly, but also because they are isolated and focused on these shows they may not be encouraged to learn more about the medium and expand their tastes to actually appreciate more of what anime has to offer, making a vicious cycle that keeps plebs in pleb mode.

90%chance.
Why? Because /a/ is filled with bad people, that's all.

Anime fandom is pretty much all contaminated with idiots and kids, none of it can be trusted.
/a/ is right more often than not, although still frequently wrong.

Why should kids be interested in watching boring shit that isn't even good in the first place, or even worse, participate in the repetitive unfunny threads that are made by all the no-fun tryhard wannabe experts who do nothing but repost the very first thing they read?
Let the new generation have fun by sticking to whatever they like, instead of becoming misanthropic curmudgeon manchildren-losers who try to compete with little kids in being more happy watching Japanimation.

Are SAO, Elfen Lied, Bleach and Naruto good then?
