Here are the basics to Japanese:
-hiragana: alphabet used for most words
-katakana: alphabet used for foreign words
-kana: hiragana + katakana
-kanji: those weird symbols, they have multiple readings and meanings
-onyomi: chinese reading of the kanji, used when kanji are together
-kunyomi: japanese reading of the kanji, used when kanji is by itself
Ok now that you understand the basics why don't you start learning Japanese?
