Someone create a visible sage script
>>1380723
Why don't you?
impossible
>>1382446
It's in the /qa/ archives somewhere. "visible sage" restricted to OP might help narrow it down.
>>1380723
Are you here still? I may do it.
>>1382446
Did you say about this?
https://4archive.org/board/qa/thread/764309
>>1384196
do it
>>1384220
Now I'm looking for it, and I searched for 4chan-X, but v1 and v3 seems not to have. Do you know other scripts? I don't want to make it by myself if there are.
There's no need to go that far.
We could just write "polite sage" in the name field or something when sageing.
It's not like your script is foolproof anyway, it can still be faked just as easily.
>>1384231
People on [a/jp] used to do it like this for a brief time when they saged.
>>1384231
I want to try to reveal sage bomb.
Was there a reason to make sage invisible?
>>1384233
Whatever works
Now I read an archive, 4chan-X didn't have it on 12 Mar.
https://desuarchive.org/qa/thread/1146930/
Is there anyone who know where is the script, or is it nowhere really?
>>1384237
Same reason why "Posting Mode: Reply" was removed, none.
>>1384237
Moot said, "Sage is not downvote!!!"
>>1384248
Having it in the name field is no violation. I could be "Pony Princess Stormchaser XII." for all I know.
>>1384237
The reason is moot was a faggot who thought listening to the lowest common denominator population of retards on /b/ by hiding it because they thought it was le epic downvote was a good way to raise a community.
>>1384196
i am here
>>1384386
What do you aim for? I'll try to find sage bomb by comparing page order and posted time, but this can't catch all sages. And do you know "saged" threads or boards? I'll test the script in it.
Oh, did someone bump?
Now I'm implementing it, but it'll take time and this thread will be pruned. My script is CatChan and you can google it. I have dev thread in m e g u c a, and I'll announce release there. I'll post URLs for your convenience, but I may be banned.
Anyway, this board is too fast to develop something.
GitHub: https://github.com/DogMan8/CatChan
DevThread: https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100
Bug report is welcome. Details will be announced in dev thread.
>>1380723
Done
>>1385883
Not done, I'm implementing it now. Or do you have something else? Then please tell me it. I'll try to use it.
That's dumb. You should bomb hiro's twitter asking him to bring back visible sage instead.
>>1385911
Yeah, OP should do it. But userscript is independent on owner's will.
>>1385911
Hiro's not going to make major changes to the site's dynamic/balance while things are still really unstable in both finances and demographics.

>CatChan
>VirtualBoard
Does this work well with 4chan X?
>>1386597
Yes, probably. But I have to test it since I haven't used it for a long time. Tell me your 4chan-X (v1 or v2) and browser. I'll test it.
BTW, I finished implementation of prototype and now I'm debugging. I'll release it next day as an alpha probably.
test sage
>>1386643
Chrome and ccd0's 4chan X ver. 1.13.8.7.
>>1386680
OK, I'll check it.
BTW, did you sage?
>>1386699
Yeah, just like now.
>>1386680
Virtual board works correctly in catalog, but it doesn't work in page view because 4chan-X removes the boardlist. I'll try to fix it.
Pic is #a + #v in catalog.
>>1386719
That's kinda cool.
>>1386719
Virtual Board itself works well in page view, you can get it by clicking [-] in boardlist on the top, but there is a conflict and errors occur. Because 4chan-X changes expander, and I assume native expander shall come. This may be require time to tune.
>>1386699
pretty neat
Testing to see how catchan works with oneechan css shit
>>1386838
lol not very well
>>1386838
>oneechan
CatChan has exclusive structure, so you have to add site2['oneechan'] to use it in the site. However, it may be easy if the site uses vichan or meguca. Can you give me its url?
>>1386838
Oh, sorry, it's a name of CSS, I understand.
>>1386869
https://github.com/nebukazar/OneeChan
>>1384248
removing all forms of self-moderation sure has worked out great for a staff that can't be arsed to even deal with the ever growing problem of bots and script users.
>>1384237
Visible sage was impossible to use. Anybody who used it would just receive a followup reply commenting on their use of sage.
>>1386917
and so the thread would be bumped anyway.
Solutions requiring everyone to be polite don't work.
I released a script with sage detection.
https://raw.github.com/Dogman8/CatChan/develop/CatChan.user.js
Details are in meguca.
https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100#p2161237
This may be premature, but I hope it work. Update announcement will be held in meguca.

Now I released a patched version of CatChan. You'll get error free coexistence of 4chan-X and CatChan in page view, but 4chan-X doesn't work well after once you use virtual board function because the function rewrites HTMLs entirely. Details are in meguca.
https://raw.github.com/Dogman8/CatChan/develop/CatChan.user.js
https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100
Oh, someone bumped, so I'll write status of now.
v2017.06.18.0 and v2017.06.18.1 had a bug of overdetection, I fixed this. And also, I'm trying to improve detectability, so v2017.06.18.2 will be released, but it may take time.
Overdetection might be caused by a bug of 4chan. I can't understand why this situation was occurred. Pic related. Can anyone explain this?
Pics are contents of catalog.json.
Pic0: thread at page 0.1, time of last post was 1497199058. (threadA)
Pic1: thread at page 0.2, time of last post was 1497198820. (threadB)
Pic2: thread at page 0.3, time of last post was 1497199203. (threadC)
ThreadA and threadB was overestimated clearly.
Pic3: details of detection. Time of last post in a thread at page 0.5 was 1497199210, and later was seems to be ordered correctly. (last 3 letters were 210, 209, 209, 202, 200, 201(probably sage), 200, 199) But threads at page 0.3 and 0.4 were also overestimated.
This thread will be pruned, so I'll wait in meguca also.

I released new update, v2017.06.18.2.
https://raw.github.com/Dogman8/CatChan/develop/CatChan.user.js
Detectability was improved. Details is in meguca, but too long, 3 posts.
https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100#p2165342
In short, 4chan has bugs and I tried to patch them, but the patch is also shit.
Anyway, thank you for bumpman. I finished implementing, I don't have any update plan about this function now if there are no bugs. Thank you and relax.
>>1392294
Nice
Oh, sorry. I caught another idea of patch and implemented it. Now I'm testing. I may release it tomorrow if it works well.

I literally am triggered by the prevalence of these terms in modern discourse.
>>1393881
*LITERALLY* autistic.
>>1393877
Why don't you?
I released new update, v2017.06.18.3.
https://raw.github.com/Dogman8/CatChan/develop/CatChan.user.js
Additional patches were added. Use default setting in slow or middle speed boards, pic related. Use other settings in fast boards like /v/, this will be posted next. However, it doesn't vary so much, so you can use whichever if you use both fast and slow boards.
Details is in meguca.
https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100#p2168554
Thanks to bumpman. I found inconsistencies in the script, so I'll fix, but you don't have to update, because the inconsistency doesn't hit if you don't use thread mode. And it may take a week or more, so this thread will be pruned.
This is settings for fast boards.
>>1393881
i've been excessively overusing it on purpose for years in order to cause that reaction so that eventually it gets phased out of usage completely
this is because one day Google decided to change the meaning of literally to mean "not literally"
so, that word is done, i'm literally over it
>>1394419
i using 4chanx + oneechan i cant even find the setting menu.
>>1396289
That's because 4chan hides header. Click [+] at the head of boardlist, then it'll appear.
Why does being able to see sage even matter
>>1397199
not like sages work on non color id board. people have no shame they will self bump it as much as they can until they get noticed
1999 Toyota Tacoma
>Regular Cab
>2.4L 4-Cylinder
>Manual 5-Speed
>>1397208
The script may not be appropriate for such a purpose, because it can't detect all sage, nor it may mistake.
And do you want to use it in super slow board like /c/? Then tell me your target board, I'll test it there. Tuning of patch depends on speed of board, and I just have tested it in /int/ and /v/. You can check speed of your board in https://catalog.neet.tv/stats.html
Would i be possible to get catchans visbale sage as a seperate script? catchans css doesnt work with my css
>>1397490
No, basically I don't have resources to manage multiple versions, and CSS issues aren't resolved by separating the script.
BTW, how does it like? It can add "!important" in style, and it is added to each element, so it is the strongest CSS basically. For example, "color:blue !important". Or you can change color of CatChan in its style directly, pic related.
>>1397487
i meant the concept of sage
Added style is the strongest, pic related. If your CSS doesn't work, type F12 and capture your screen.
>>1397580
Yeah, but it's dangerous if you warn people by "ambiguous" sage detector. If you are some moderators and watch how people act and make a sticky like "please use sage in case of ...", it may be appropriate.
I released new update. v2017.06.25.0
https://raw.github.com/Dogman8/CatChan/develop/CatChan.user.js
For 4chan-X user: You don't have to update.
For vanilla user: If you use CatChan in thread, update to this. This can show "DELETED_" to deleted posts as 4chan-X does.
Next release will be for meguca, so I won't make announcements here. I'll quit here gradually. Feel free to ask usage in dev thread in meguca.
https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100
And thank you bumpman.
I still dont funny understand how to use the catchan

>>1398907
What function do you want to use?
>>1398925
THIS one
*whips out cock*
>>1401268
CatChan doesn't have any formatting helper.
4chan-X v1 doesn't have it, but dollchan has. Use dollchan.
>>1401268
Oh, sorry, 4chan-X has it. Type Ctrl-s.
age
>>1396630
not seeing it
>>1406307
It works with 4chanX and oneechan in my environment. See pic.
Type F12 and check errors in your console, and post them if they are.
>>1406328
>>1406307
CSS tweaks don't remove any DOM elements, so test as follows.
1. Type F12 to show console.
2. Copy and paste following commands, see pic.
var spans = document.getElementsByTagName('span');
for (var i=0;i<spans.length;i++) if (spans[i].textContent==='[CC') console.log(spans[i]);
3. Then, <span ....> will be appear if CatChan works. In this case, you have to check your CSS. If it doesn't appear, CatChan fails in early stage, there are errors in your console probably.
>>1406337
OK, tell me your browser and version.
And click triangle at the head of the error message to show trace lines, and give screenshot of that.
It might be updated, because the specification was changed, but I left it because it works.
>>1406337
I'll check details, but as far as I guess, it may work if you test it as follows.
1. Copy your URL
2. Open new tab. This is required.
3. Paste the URL and open.
Anyway, I'll check it.
>>1406386
doesn't work with 4chanx
>>1406388
In my environment, it works. Do you use some odd setting? I just use default of 4chan-X. If I can reproduce it, I can fix it.
>>1406397
I have custom settings
I use the thing that gives you a small preview of the latest posts which I think breaks it
>>1406398
Is this?
And I have to go out, I'll return 1 hour later.
>>1406398
BTW, you can turn off CatChan in catalog. You don't have to use it if you just want to get sage detection. See pic.
>>1406388
Oh, I could reproduce it by chance. So I can debug it, but it'll be difficult to support because it's sure to remake whole HTMLs since it uses url of page though I haven't investigate anything.
Use native catalog if you want to use virtual boards.
>>1406388
/int/ is a good board
>>1406507
No, it's this: http://allint.xyz/
>>1406512
intradesding.
>>1406512
>4chan leads to bant
>generals leads to /int/
sadly true
>>1406388
The page is recognized as page by CatChan, so you can turn off CatChan when you uncheck page mode. See pic.
>>1406388
4chan-X catalog uses its original HTML and adds nodes dynamically, so CatChan doesn't support 4chan-X catalog. You can turn off CatChan in catalog and/or page, see >>1406410 and/or >>1406534. You can use the sage detector regardless of your using CatChan in catalog and/or page. It's a separate function.
If you want to use virtual boards, use native catalog or page. And CatChan is designed to work WITH native extension. Don't forget to turn on native extension if you are user of 4chan-X, which disables it automatically.
is this the catchan experience?
>>1407922
I cant find it
>>1409872
doesnt let me click
>>1409882
That's your CSS issue. I encountered it, and I could resolve that by changing size of window.
