Dallas has a lot of good parts, but a lot of really ghetto areas. Ft worth would easily be my pick. Best mix of economy and culture, and possibly the only major city that doesn't have a large percentage of ghetto population. Parts of the hill country that haven't been flooded by Californians are also a good choice.

Now, I've spent ages in this small town of friendly folks. Growing up, I always had fond thoughts of my home town. Sadly, as I got older, my cheery memories of this town were overtaken by a much grimmer reality. It was not until my high school years that I started to realize that what I once thought to be an ideal home was actually a pit-stop for the worst kind of trash. I noticed that my city consisted entirely of fast food, storage, car washes, motels, and gas stations. I looked deeper and I realized that my city was a cesspool for cultural filth. Military families from all across the country gathered in my little pit-stop of a city. With them they brought along their morally corrupted offspring. In recent years, I've noticed a surge in the amount of shaved heads and neon hair on the girls. I've witnessed more and more misguided children who have fallen to the trap of sexual liberation. Thanks to this, the STD rate for the central Texas area has spiked in recent years. Within the past year, I have had the displeasure of having to put up with larger and larger amounts of gender-fluid banshees and shrill transsexuals. The drug problem of my city and the cities surrounding mine has gotten out of hand. The kids only ever talk about rolling their next joint. Outside influence should be held accountable for the social and moral decay occurring in the Lone Star State. Texas was once much greater than this. It had more to offer. The sooner we get rid of foreign influence, (United States of Soddom and Gomorrah) the sooner we purge the filth from Texas' once righteous veins. We must reclaim the glory that lies in wait for each and every one of us.

I-35 is where the South ends and the Southwest begins. I-45 is where the Deep South ends. Anything south of Corpus Christi is Mexico and Dallas sits at the intersection of the South and Midwest. Houston is where I grew up and I define Houston as having 3 cultures. The hispanic culture is pure Mexico, the native Whites and Blacks are pure Southern with accent and all. Then you have the yankee transplant culture that is diluting Houston's oilman/deep southernness. I would say the area between Houston and New Orleans is hardly different in landscape, accent and people.

Some of the towns in far east Texas might identify more with "the South" and some of the far west towns might identify with the Southwest, but yeah, Texas is Texas.
