What is the opinion in the United States about Louisiana? And about cajuns?

What is the feeling about them?
>>
I like it here.
>good food
>friendly people
>booze is everywhere/easy to get
>lots of live music and festivals
>>
>>91360448
In acadiana specifically. The rest of Louisiana is shit nigger tier
>>
>>91359963
It's certainly unique. They have a specific charm there. Americans like the parties, the food, and the lively atmosphere. I enjoy the area and I appreciate the French influence.
>>
Is that there a significant link between Acadania and the rest of the country?
>>
>>91360843
It's retained a unique culture that still thrives and leaks into neighboring States somewhat. But one of Louisiana's biggest industries is tourism. I'm from Lafayette and I find it weird that people would come way out here for a vacation but they love the culture.

>Acadia
It's Acadiana. Acadia is in Nova Scotia and it's where the Cajuns come from after the Le Grand Derangement where the British expelled them. Also I love living here in Louisiana the culture, the people, the food and everything else is wonderful here. I live in New Orleans and even though it is nigger-tier in most parts I still love the charm and look of the city.
>>91360843
No, I feel like Louisiana is it's own unique country with a different culture sometimes but we are still proud Americans
>>
>>91361156
Why? It's not a good place for vacation?
>>
>>91361369
It is, but it's located in the middle of the american South which is 3rd-world tier for the most part. We have a real nigger problem.
>>
>>91361369
Louisiané est très chaud été. L'automne et printemps est beau mais trop court. L'hiver est brutalement glaciales. Aussi >>91361584
Le crime est terrible en particulier à les villes
>>
Northerner here

We think Louisiana is a shithole besides New Orleans, saved from being the worst place in America only by Mississippi.
>>
>>91361928
For the niggers?
>>
>>91361803
Forgot to mention the weather. If you come here during the summer, you'll sweat your ass off. Now would be a good time to come, catch a Saints/LSU game and try all the food people will give you
>>
>>91362165
I'm glad it finally started to cool down, summer felt like it lasted 2 years. I love our 3 weeks of autumn and spring. The rest of the year is either too hot or too cold.
>>
>>91362079
Pretty much. They ruin everything and they're flooding into your country.

Disclaimer I'm from Texas. Sup Louisiana senpai.

My grandmas family is cajun. All of them live somewhere called Des Allemands. But a lot still live in the boonies. It's neat when we visit. Some Bond movie was filmed behind my great aunts house in the bayou, so theres that.

I love the drive through corner stores, the gambling, the food, the music, friendly people, cool accents. and hunting.

Louisiana is a great place.
>>
>>91362079
Don't believe the memes, Breaux Bridge and that town next to Avery Island are absolutely great, love Lafayette too. Niggers all work in the Mississippi as the song goes. Like the delta area and New Orleans itself outside of French Quarter and Tulane/Loyola is like %100 nigger. I've had some of my best times in Louisiana. I would move their but it's not my culture, and id feel like I'd be contributing to the invasion.

I appreciate the sentiment. There is a shit ton of yankees and yuppies coming from New York and California gentrifying neighborhoods and moving blacks out. We are becoming a more white city because of it but it is a hipster invasion
>>
And about Baton-rouge?

Im a NOLA native, left for college at the age of 18. Louisiana is generally based as fuck. Hunting season is year round.

I found pic related in the men's bathroom of a lafayette, LA dive bar.

Also, we LOVE the french. Please come visit!
>>
>>91363950
College town, typical USA party atmosphere. You can have a good time and get great food, but NOLA is where you should be looking to visit
>>
Are there tensions between Cajun and the rest of the population?
>>
If you visit NOLA, for the love of god do not go to bourbon street.

Go to Frenchman street instead. Much better
>>
>>91363950
Shithole suburb city with the only go for it is LSU. Massive amount of niggers concentrated in the North (industrial wasteland) and East Baton Rouge Parish (suburbs with the occasional ghetto). I lived there for a bit after Katrina, there is not much to do and you need a car to get anywhere
>>
>>91364202
None that ive ever whitnessed. If you speak french and are white, expect cajuns to be your best friend
>>
>>91359963
Why is their flag so similar to the phillipines'? Is there a historical connection im not aware of?
>>
>>91364202
No we all get along here plus they contribute to our culture
>>91364221

Love you too, buddy. Texas/Louisiana is OTP.

Even if we're your nigger storage. Just don't have another Hurricane anytime soon, kay?

We're just getting back into gear after the last one. <3

I'm from Lafayette. Grew up in a semi poor area called the "saint streets" no niggers that I remember. The entire acadiana area is actually pretty comfy. Family is very emphasized there, so is staying true to our Canadian/French influence.

My question to you is what to native French think of that area. Also of Nova scotia.
>>
cajuns need to come to florida panhandle, its alot nicer, plus theres less oil tainted seafood
>>
>>91364483
i thought the phillipines was a spanish colony tho.
>>
>>91364611
Essentially it's a region with strong French influence. Not really more.

And about Nova Scotia, almost nothing.
>>
Tbh frogman louisiana is relatively comfy.

If you enjoy live music, random festivals, great food, gambling ,and drinking. You will enjoy the cities the other anons listed.

And it's the best time to be outside here. I'm swinging on my back porch drinking sweat tea shitposting.
>>
>>91364611
I don't think frenchmen are much aware of Acadiana as much as they are of Quebec or Acadia.
In general french speaking america gives me and most of my compatriots a sense of wonder and a wish to reconnect with our faraway brothers. For some it's a possible escape from mainland France and the possibility to experience the vast american wilds.

Its complicated
>>
The conquest of Lousiana and Canada is not much discussed on class
>>
>>91365485
You wont see a lot of random people speaking french or broken french anymore though. Its mostly the older folks who speak French or broken french.

My great grandfather would tell me he would get introuble for speaking French at school. Kinda sad that but if the culture is fading here really.

MA NIGGA
>>
Just moved to Baton Rouge maybe 2-3 weeks ago. So far I love it. Great food and atmosphere here. Those floods did a number though.
>>
Baton Rouge has mixed fellings
>>
>>91366356
Freetown here
>>
>>91366714
My word dude. We probably know a lot of the same people. I know a lot of people from Freetown. Come to the loose caboose sometime man. I'm always there
>>
>>91365485
this
>>
>>91359963
I've been to the south but unfortunately never to Louisiana. I like the mix of cultures, in particular how the French handled the area. I also like the French influence and the Catholic culture, so to say, in their Mardi Gras celebrations. Reminds me of my European experiences with Carneval
>>
>>91366577
My parents lived out in Denham Springs and they lost everything. My sister had to be evacuated by the Cajun Navy
>>
>>91367359
Cajun navy?

Also, who is the gouvernor? A cajun?
>>
>>91367574
The governor is a socialist shit eater
John bel Edwards. Although he was in the 82nd airborne so that helps a little
>>
>>91367574
They are a band of volunteers who help people out during floods
http://www.livingstonparishnews.com/living/cajun-navy-saved-s-of-lives-during-great-flood/article_44dfc9de-8692-11e6-9de7-e7385d330fe7.html
The governor's name is John Bel Edwards, he a democratic cuck who panders to blacks. (though not as bad as Mitch Landrieu the mayor of NOLA) Judging by his name you can tell he is not cajun
>>
>>91361167
The name in French is the same for both regions. Acadiana actually comes from a typo a news typing woman made back in like the 60's.

>>91361369
Don't listen to this fuck >>91361584
Cajun country is beautiful and there actually are quite a few francophone enclaves/tourist destinations which would likely interest you. Thing is there are some niggers but if you come across one who speaks "créole" as they call it, then you'll certainly be in for a positive experience.

>>91361928
Ignore the ignorant yank. New Orleans is an actual 3rd world tier cesspool if you leave any of the designated tourist friendly zones.

>>91359963
Finally, to answer your question, "Cajun" is just a buzzword they throw onto anything from Louisiana which isn't of the predominant American culture. As far as the actual people/history/culture is concerned, there's little widespread knowledge outside of South Louisiana.
>>
Grew up in Lafayette, but born in Texas. Not of Cajun heritage, but I can eat and cook with the best of them. Weather is starting to turn cool and dry, so squirrel season is afoot, and the gumbo pots are coming out. People around here all seem to get along, no matter their color. I think alot of that comes from southern manners, yes Ma'am, no Ma'am, yes Sir, No Sir. I was taught to hold the door open for everyone, and treat others they way I would like to be treated. Will always be the bad apple here and there, but for the most part it is like one big family.
>>
What is the cajun food?
>>
>>91359963
As an Alabamian, I like Louisiana fine. They don't share a border with us but every time I'm down there it's like home but more wet. People there are nice. It's easy to get hookers in New Orleans too so there's that.
>>
>>91362165
Get ready to get fucked LSU!! ROLL TIDE NIGGERS.
