The new recruits seem decent but ~15 years ago local police was understaffed and opened lots of positions. Most local drug dealers and bad boys I knew applied and many made it into the force. The police force even gave out advice on how to expunge their criminal records (only if 5+ years since conviction) before applying baka desu senpai They have quite bad reputation.

One late evening I got stopped and was really unsure why. And I generally am terrified of being pulled over by cops, so if I am on a road I wait until I can get to a public area so I am not alone with them. But this situation was weird because the cop was practically pushing me off the road and I knew something was up so I pulled over. I didn't even get to say anything and he told me he was pulling me over because these psychofuck backwoods hillbillies (the type of highschool dropouts who drape their trucks in confederate flags and listen to bro-country music) were following me from the moment I left Target, and I never realized... He pulled me over to make sure they weren't going to fuck with me, because the area outside where the Target is, is all woodlands and shit. So this cop was talking to me, and this sprayed red truck (obviously was originally black and had a horrible paint job) slows by in a drive and their exhaust is like total shit, and I look at them as they drive by, and they're of course what I expected. The passenger is an overweight white guy with a handlebar and cheap ear piercings, he looks maybe 24. In the middle is some thin/anorexic looking white guy whose shirtless and as hairy as a missing link who was god knows what age maybe mid 20s too. And then the driver I could barely see but my god he must have been 300lbs because I could sure see his fat belly. The music from their car was some terrible rock music (I only like pop.) The cop said, "good evening gentleman" and they just sped up to the normal speed and went by. I thanked the officer and told him I was getting off the route on the next road anyway, but it was nice he knew I was gay and could potentially be hate-crimed, while laughing kinda while saying this. And he got very pink faced, and told me to have a good evening, and that was that.

Well this is the huge problem with modern policing, instead of a local officer who knows everyone and knows what's going on and would be able to track down your stolen item, police officers are extremely disconnected from the local people and of course there is not a hope in hell you will get your stolen bike or whatever back.

We need police back on the streets in much larger numbers, getting to know the local people and within arms reach of the cunts in our society.

My town's police are very good people.
I don't think you can judge police by country so much as you can by town/city. Los Angeles has shit officers for example, but I wouldn't base my opinion of all officers in the country off them.

Also this current generation is a bunch of entitled little nancy fucks and our justice system is from an age that didn't cater to them, so obviously they're chaffing really bad with the police force because they're not use to being told what to do under threat of physical restraint and possibly violence without being able to cry lawsuit.

Generally, they're doing their job professionally and well. There's a couple that drag the rest down, but they're still minor cases.

Actually, safety concerns.

If you're sharing a road with cars, wearing a helmet will make drivers less careful, keep less safety distance ect. In other words, helmets may help in specific accidents, but can also create accidents. It's a judgment call people should be allowed to make themselves, depending on where they ride.

Well they're generally pretty useless, I've had my house burgled and I'm pretty sure they never even looked. I've also worked as a bouncer and had one night where a guy who was on speed pulled a knife and after the manager called the cops, it took them just over half an hour to get there despite the fact that the main police station was only about 6 streets over.

So, wouldn't count on them to be there when needed, but at the same time, I'm also not worried about getting shot by them in a traffic stop or because they raided the wrong house. All in all, I don't have any major problem with the police. Just wish they'd work on crimes not related to going over the speed limit

Australian cops are pretty based. I find the ones that are overweight, and have shit diets are the ones that go on power trips. Most cops here in NSW hate the cops in the Highway Patrol branch though, and for a good reason.

She notices and takes note of lots of dumb and seemingly unimportant things. So do I. I have talked to a lot of RCMP members over the years and I feel like they're cool guys.
