The US and NATO sided with the KLA, which mainly does drug trafficking, over Serbia. The KLA was considered a terrorist group by us until 3 days before we intervened. Serbia had been our ally in both World Wars.

After our intervention the situation went from bad to worse. Massacres by ethnic Serbs of the Albanians we claimed to be helping went up. Kosovo was also cleansed of ethnic Serbs by Albanians under US cover, which limited the ROE to stop one sides actions. The media was wholly complicit in this.

In retrospect, especially given the ominous statements of US General Wesley Clark (who is also Jewish), the Western intervention was a rehearsal. It created a refugee problem that tested Europe's ability to absorb foreigners, who this time were at least European racially and weren't as radical as they're successors. It was a major humanitarian war that helped marginalize anti-war voices across the west. It also was achieved at little cost to the Western powers involved, so the public back home easily bought the story.

I think what most people seem to forget is the fact it was a civil war, basically all sides did horrible deeds, all sides committed war crimes, maybe not in same quantity, but it was def done. There's a theory Alija killed his own people at that pijaca, so he could blame Serbs for it. And plenty of other stuff that was done, and is lot more than a theory.
