The "right" has it's roots in the monarchy. it denotes a political system in which power is theoretically derived and exercised from the top down.

The only reason the right tries to claim they give a single shit about freedom is that they slavishly serve the donor class who would like to be free of regulations that cost them money when they have to do things like safely dispose of toxic chemicals.

The right grows government every chance it gets, just in a way that only benefits the donor class. They're all gung ho to subsidize big business, or run public money through private hands via the military industrial complex (the American MIC alone represents the largest transfer of wealth in human history), or create the patriot act and PRISM.

Stop learning about the world through simplistic marketing, and try actually learning about the world that you live in in earnest, and examine what people and systems actually do, rather then what they tell you, no matter how warm and fuzzy it makes you feel.

Start with the French Revolution, which you SHOULD have learned about in grade school but I guess you were not encouraged to learn or think at whatever daycare you went to that was misnamed as a school.
