There's brain imaging that seems to suggest it. There are distinctly female and male brain patterns, and in a small percentage of the population people have the brain pattern of the opposite sex. Not all of these people are transsexual, though, and not all transsexuals are afflicted with this. It's not really a clear cut thing.

Personally, I think we should form a separatist movement. It's clear cissies will never accept us and that we'll never fit into cis society, so we should just take over San Francisco or something and withdraw entirely.
