Cause they can't. Plain and simple. No matter how many times Communism is implemented it always fails but then they say it wasn't real communism and try again. Just say real fascism wasn't tried every time a commie says real communism wasn't tried.

Gentrification traps with no real productive value. Growing your own produce is ALWAYS more expensive than buying it once you factor in labor. The reason these are allowed to exist is because they raise property values without actually threatening to liberate anyone. They aren't actually helpful, beyond being a nice hobby.

Start a housing commune? Well, now there's a new law which limits the number of single adults per dwelling. Start a free stuff library? Well now the cops are combing over your inventory every day until they "find" something stolen. Start up an anti-capitalist vegan restaurant? Get ready for endless anti-vegan propaganda in the local news to paint you all as filthy hippies.

Socialism is never allowed to succeed and fail on its own. It is always attacked.
