This

I don't see why some cunt should be able to replace all his human with machines then not pay anything ectra back to society.

Either he can pay some extra taxes to support the workers he got rid of, or society will collapse.

Whats the point of owning a business when no one has the money to buy your products?
>>
>>140025792
So you want the robots to get outsourced to somewhere that doesn't tax like crazy?

Would universal basic income even be a topic of debate if wages had increased over time in proportion with productivity?
>>
>>140025792

And how do we afford to build and maintain robots that cost more to build than it costs to pay someone in minimum wage? Your techno-fix is just going to increase consumption and we'll be fucked again as usual

Teensy tiny itty bitty fraction of our military budget could easily guarantee basic income and we'd still have the largest, most powerful military force on Earth.

>>140025490
We are bringing back slavery. It's the only way to get t he free labor UBI depends on.
>>
>>140027039
That assumes no one stops working intentionally.

Only way we "afford" basic income is with AI replacement. But with AI replacement, the elites won't decide to keep the plebs around anymore anyway.

Either way, basic income will not work.

If magically, it does, I will never work again, and you guys can just pay me to live.

>where is the money supposed to come from?

From the many, many people who aren't satisfied with the bare minimum
and work hard to get ahead,
plus the people who will use the guaranteed safety net to take a riskier job opportunity
that might pay off big in the end, like starting your own business
or supporting a start-up company.

Estate tax on the extremely wealthy. There is a point where you want to hand your children a comfortable life, and then there are the Paris Hiltons of the world. If you are unable to create a fortune from your parents wealth and connections by the time they die, you don't deserve a single penny from their accounts.
>>
>>140025490
>where is the money supposed to come from?
You are asking the wrong question. Where does wealth come from? The manipulation of materials into goods.

If we are constantly creating wealth why is it that money must be borrowed from banks at interest and why do banks get to create money on command? Why does the government borrow money from banks when it has the legal control over the creation of new currency?

>245 million adult Americans.
>Median US income is $52,000
>245 million x .5 x 52000 = ~6 trillion.
>US 2017 budget: 1 trillion.

Taxes would have to be multiplied by an average of 6, which quite simply isn't possible, if you wanted to bring everyone to the median income level. The only way to achieve it would be with an insanely automated socialist/communist state. Marxist socialism and communism are insanely flawed, so imo the only way to successfully implement it at a level that completely destroys poverty would be with a facist state some 40-50 years in the future.

>>140027886
Same genius idea communists had in pretty much every revolution, take it from the rich. Oh wait that guy with the 6 billion dollars in assests moved all his money out of the country and all his employees are out of a job.
>>
>>140029159
If you can only think to fund this with taxes you haven't given the idea enough thought. So your conclusions while maybe accurate for your starting point are not attempts to find viable solutions, but rather an attempt to find non viable solutions.

The whole premise of our economy is fucked. The agricultural revolution occurred (like most societal innovations) with no way to safeguard against rampant growth.

Basically, the example of wolf and hare population interactions. Wolf population feeds on hares. Hares feed locally within an area. They do not migrate. Hare's food source is plants.

One year, increased rains lead to increased vegetation. Increased vegetation leads to increased hare population (synonymous with Agricultural Revolution) as a product of increased food availability, Wolf population increases as a result of Hare population increase, More wolves mean more hares will be eaten, meaning less hares, meaning more vegetation for existing hares.

Thats a similar cycle to the Agricultural Revolution. Increased food for Humans leads to increased birth rate and overall population increase.

That's because a system isn't in place to redirect efficiency.

Similarly, our economy and it's view of resources work the same way. Efficiency leads to an access of material which leads to increased growth (where applicable). Efficiency should be transferred to society, locally, but instead it is transferred abroad, sometimes to other countries, halfway around the world.

Efficiency remaining locally means there wouldn't be a need for universal basic income. Locally, people would work for a decent wage, and the fruits of their labor would be felt with decreased prices, and increased leisure time (education is a great byproduct of increased leisure time - which means innovative ideas, increasing efficiency even further).

The problem is, we have efficiency being exported by globalist corporations. We are still stuck in the mindset of early humans, with no tools to handle increased efficiency, we just use it to sustain growth.

Universal Basic Income is a shitty attempt at increasing leisure time while supporting the Globalist Agenda.

Taxes, where else. No such thing as a free lunch.
>>
>>140025490
Infrastructure and production absolutely must be invested in heavily until production meets demands properly in most facets of life.

After that you completely automate production in factories, without the need for regular human maintenance.

From there you (at least semi) automate resource extractions and transportation to and from factories.

Now that companies who control such business are making gorillians without having to pay wages/healthcare/etc they now pay more taxes which in turn is used to fund UBI.

Now here's this kicker: You need to not be a crony-capitalist nation for this to work.

USA is extremely corrupt and corps don't pay jack shit in taxes through millions of loopholes and illegal activies and brib- "lobbying".

So yeah UBI will never work thanks to corruption and selfish pricks who play life like a game where they want the biggest high score possible and that high score is measured in money despite the huge amount of human suffering they cause.
