This. As for getting active politically, one thing you can do is show up for any public meetings the county has that look somewhat interesting, and listen and maybe talk to some people afterwards if you know enough not to sound like an idiot.

Always remember that freedom is an illusion. You work 4 months out of the year for the government and that's just what's taken directly out of your check. Your labor is again taxed for nearly any transaction you make, any investment you make. By the time all is said and done you spend nearly half the year devoting your labor purely to the state. You will never own property because you only ever rent it from the state. You pay taxes on your rental and that rental can be seized at any time. If you do not conform to the ridiculous and overreaching demands of local codes and ordinances on said property you will be fined and may lose that property. All of this is guaranteed under the threat of violence. If you do not give your labor to the state the state will use violence to force compliance or it will remove that illusion of freedom and make you into a slave in prison as the 13th amendment does not apply to prisoners.


All of this so that half or more of your labor can be used to facilitate death and destruction the world over as well as paying the dregs of society your labor as a stop gap to keep them dependent on the state rather than destroying it even more.

Remember this every day you wake up to go slave for the state. Remember it every time you lust after material acquisition and vanity. Remember it ever time you're inspired to work harder so that you can have even more stolen from you as you chase the illusion of freedom.

But we do. What do you think the Tea Party (before it got at least partially co-opted) was? There are political groups pretty much anywhere that while they may not be perfect are working to move things in a good direction.

You just have to have the agency to get up and go to the meetings, even if you would rather stay at home and drink and shitpost on a weekend, or sometimes if there is an event you need to take a vacation day for. If you can do some research on what is going on in local politics that is even better.

You have to go to graduate school or higher 90% of the time. Undergrad degrees are basically the standard now for any job paying 40k a year, sometimes less.
