It's a well studied fact that interbreeding cultivates common features which can mean higher IQ, stronger bodies and life expectancy.
Is that worth the risk of every few offspring being born with a disability?

As long as you continue inbreeding eventually all the males will have serious genetic diseases which will result in a death of the linage because most will live very short lives.

This is actually a myth cultivated by lords in the 1500s to justify having additional concubines.
There is nothing about interbreeding that would cause a lineage to die out, it's negative effects are an increase in the likelihood of various disabilities and infertility, but it's not cumulative.
