Why is it that both Capitalism and Communism grassroots ideals are highly materialistic? Both of 'em believe that human progress it's centered around money, production etc. The Third position believes that there is something far more important than wealth and the economy.

Sure, money is good but making more than, say, 100k murican dollars a year contributes nothing to your happiness.
