This just blew my mind. Apparently there is an entire class of people who believe the industrialists were actually good for America and the economy and raised wages. I don't understand this at all, sure they created jobs but they did that with MONEY, they got the money by selling products. People bought those products with money they could have spent somewhere else. That somewhere else where they used to spend now doesn't have money. So basically for every job an industrialist creates a small business goes under
As someone who descends from an industrialist this is very personal. i still think industrialists are scum though.

All these men were geniuses born dirt poor, who built incredibly successful industries which skyrocketed the wealth in America, not just for themselves but for everyone. When a country profits from massive success everyone benefits.
