Went through Hurricane Dolly. I lived on farm land around tons of empty open fields. The place flodded and took like 3 weeks to finally drain out completely. The jackass in the back cut the electricity wire and it took electric company 2 months to come out to fix it. We were without electricity for 2 months. The first few days were bad because I was so use to sleeping with a blanket that even with the windows wide open and it being hot as fuck I still covered myself with a blanket.

Evacuated during Rita and that was hell on Earth. Easily one of the worst experiences I've had. When we got back to the house we literally had one branch fall in our yard and that was it.

Ike was pretty bad. We didn't have much flooding near me but the power was out for a week and a half and that's no fun during a humid Texas summer. Though I got surprisingly used to it after a couple of days. When a local pizza shop opened up and we got some pizza it was the best thing I'd ever tasted.

Not a hurricane, but probably the closest relate-able thing to what's going on now was Allison. I was pretty young but I remember a ton of rain and a ton of flooding. My house was fine but it was pretty bad.

This is the worst flooding we've had in my neighborhood that I'm aware of. It came close to coming inside but luckily it stopped raining and receded. Hopefully it doesn't come back.
