This is a red board which means that it's strictly for adults (Not Safe For Work content only). If you see any illegal content, please report it.

Oh wait it's not. If you include "self murder" in the crime rate, then
Japan and Korea are the two most dangerous countries in the world

Japan, and Korea, both have suicide rates higher, than "deadly" America's
Suicide rate, homicide rate, and 'accidental gun death' rates, combined.

Another day another lie from the gun-grabbers. Keep failing

They have a very oppressive society that demands high levels of conformaty. If you dont conform you are shamed. Leads to suicide.
Its not really the same as american mongrels slaughtering each other.

It is literally a forest so spooky and haunted, that all the lost souls of Japan, eventually wander out of their shut-in hovels, and migrate there to die miserable, lonely deaths in the heart of the deep woods.

If you remove suicide from statistics america has a laughably tiny rate of gun deaths.

Suicide statistics are a real favorite for people making political points. An official can include them as a crime to portray societey as dangerpus and in dire need of more imposing laws, then a few years later decide not to include them and point at the now drastically reduced crime stats as evidence all those erosions to personal liberty are working.

Japan's low crime rate is a farce.

1. Aokigahara is in reality a dumping ground for the Yakuza
2. Most crime goes unreported. Plenty of stories about foreigners getting robbed/ felt up/ etc and authorities ignoring it to save both the "face" (and career) of the criminal, and of society
3. There is a 99% conviction rate
4. Gambling and prostitution are rampant, even though technically illegal

Well that and japanese religion and morality doesnt really see death as all that bad or final. In japanese philosophy, religion, and morality reincarnation features heavily as does the idea that reality is just an illusion or not very permanant and solid.

So to japs suicide is more of a life reset button than it is a permanant ending. Western philosophy and morality is based on christianity, which ststes suicide is an insult to god and wasting the precious gift of life, which we each only have one of rendering death as a finality and life as a finite precious resource. So in western cultures suicide is viewed as an illness or a crime whereas in japan its seen as more of a sad thing but also not that huge of a deal.

Japanese people also die of dehydration during earthquakes rather than loot convenience stores that have been cracked down the middle and abandoned.

Japan is not America. Japan is not anywhere else at all.

Japan has a definite "if we didnt prosecute it then it never happened" method towards crime statistic recording too.

Most japanese crime reporting utterly ignore anything that didnt get sentenced, and in high profile especially henious crimes where a culprit is not easily and swiftly caught the incentive is to hide it to avoid it embarassing the officials/city/nation.

It's really depressing to think about the fact that Japanese culture and history is probably the most fascinating in the world, but the country itself is plagued by seriously debilitating social problems that only seem to get worse every year. This is what globalization does to a country.

I've been there twice. Only things I found was a porn magazine the first time and a noose the second. No bodies, even though I followed a ribbon for a good while. I should go again once it gets cool, but that is a day trip I want to do with friends because it would be boring otherwise. Pic related.
