Why the fuck did Trump pardon Joe Arpaio?

>[Joe Arpaio] was deadly serious about one thing: using his power to retaliate against anybody who criticized him. Infamously, after a critical report on him had appeared in the Phoenix New-Times, Arpaio had his deputies stage late-night raids on the homes of the paper’s publishers, arresting them in front of their families. When the county Board of Supervisors cut Arpaio’s budget, Arpaio and the county attorney conspired to indict board members on dozens of bogus felony charges as an “anti-corruption initiative.” An official who later reviewed the cases against the officials concluded that the “record is littered with behavior so egregious that a reasonable person’s sense of fairness, honesty and integrity would be offended.” The scheme was so transparent that the county attorney ended up getting disbarred over it (and the board members ended up—in a familiar pattern—having to be paid multi-million dollar settlements).

The guy is a fucking walking liability. He engages in Saturday morning cartoon levels of villainy. His actions alone have literally cost the taxpayers of Arizona millions in damages.

THIS is who Trump wants to pardon? Draining the swamp my goddamn ass.

>>
>>139146777

he clean. It took Obama 6-7 years to force him out.

He had to throw the kitchen sink at him for anything to stick.

He had to write an executive order that Arpaio would defy just so a judge to hang him on contempt of court for refusing to follow his executive order.

>An official who later reviewed the cases against the officials concluded that the “record is littered with behavior so egregious that a reasonable person’s sense of fairness, honesty and integrity would be offended.”

I don't give a shit about latinos.

Staging late night raids and arresting the publishers of a newspaper on trumped up charges because that newspaper criticized you is an ABSURD overreach of power.

Likewise colluding with the county attorney to get revenge on the Board of Supervisors cutting your budget is fucking despicable.

Either one of those events should have seen him tried and incarcerated.
>>
>>139147757

yeah, he's clean.

Organized crime, Democrats, SJWs, and the liberal deep state hate him.

Look at how political correct Democrats run cities. Check out Chicago. Black nationalists, Mexicans aren't happy with law enforcement unless criminals can do whatever they want.

Arpaio went Elliot Ness on them and was untouchable, so they hated him for it.

Out of frustration a liberal judge just decided to take offense to his actions and held him in contempt. She convicted him without a jury. Bullshit bench trial and she was trying to humiliate him with 6 months in prison.

Fucker was railroaded and everyone involved should be disbarred. 100% political motivated legal hit job.

You're insane. You are actually insane.

I find it bizarre that when you shits are confronted with actual conspiracies you turn a blind eye, and yet pounce on notions of lizard people, moon landings, and government mind control. Your perception of reality is literally ruled by agency, you sift through information while holding tightly to your preconceived notions- and if that information challenges those notions? You discard the information instead of re-evaluating your world view.

If Joe Arpaio is pardoned by Trump and derided as a blemish on the face of society by the enemy tribe. Then he is of your tribe, and thereby can do no wrong.

If you aren't absurdly wealthy then you are one of the easiest goddamn marks on the face of the planet for interest groups hostile to your wellbeing. You know that?

What the hell do you think culture is, you dumbass?

Laws are supposed to be the legal embodiment of the mores of our culture, and I thought being "anti-corruption" was a fundamental aspect of that culture.

But apparently we, as a society, are actually two-faced with double standards. What we should instead have codified in our laws is that "it's fine when people are corrupt and take advantage of our society if they're a certain ethnicity, but if they're another ethnicity and trying to take advantage of us? Fuck 'em."

Are you retarded" Arpaio is the opposite of the swamp, everything he does works against the globalists and their attempts to destroy America and the rest of the West.
>>
> Arpaio’s criminal conviction is routinely, in fact almost invariably, described in one of two ways. Either that he continued to engage in racial profiling despite a court order to stop. Or that he continued with immigration sweeps contrary to a court order to abandon them.
> Both descriptions are inaccurate and misleading.
> In the underlying civil case, federal Judge G. Murray Snow did find that Arpaio had unconstitutionally used race in making traffic stops in an effort to find illegal immigrants. In fact, it was the central finding in the civil case.

> Snow’s remedial orders, however, went far beyond simply forbidding the use of race in initial traffic stops. He ordered Arpaio to get out of the immigration enforcement business altogether. Even with a legal stop, Arpaio was to either charge people with a state crime or let them go. No detaining them or turning them over to federal officials for immigration violations.

> It was this edict to get out of the immigration business altogether that federal Judge Susan Bolton found Arpaio in criminal contempt for violating.

> However, Bolton’s decision does not include a finding that the sheriff’s office continued to illegally use race in initial stops, or any other legal problem with the initial stops. It was what the sheriff’s office did after the stop – turn people over to the feds for immigration violations without charging them with state crimes – that Bolton found in criminal contempt of Snow’s civil orders.

I don't have time to check over everything arpaio has done, I don't know enough on the topic to speak about it, so I apologize for diminishing your points with my earlier post.
However you are quite cleverly diverting attention away from what Trump pardoned Arpaio for, that is Arpaio was too tough on illegal immigrants.
He's not pardoning Arpaio for persecuting journalists or any of the other things you're spamming in this thread.
He's pardoning Arpaio for the one thing they got him on, supposedly discriminating against latino's (the majority of illegal immigrants let's be honest).
He was refused a jury trial and the witch hunt was fueled by the media and powerful lobbying groups.
It was an admitted witch hunt.
If Arpaio did indeed do the things you're accusing him of then that's wrong. But it's also wrong to commit judicial activism based off previous events which you want to teach him a lesson on.
That's just as corrupt and that's what happened.
They were ticked at him for the things he supposedly did in the past and used a trumped-up charge in order to throw him in jail as a way of paying him back.
So regardless of if Arpaio is a good dude or not Trump was right to pardon him.

Trump saved Sheriff Joe from a phony politically motivated charge.
>>
>>139154276
>>139152868

Actually I was wrong, he wasn't convicted for profiling, he was convicted for refusing to abide by an absurd rule that he was ordered to not even stop illegal immigrants whatsoever.
An obvious judicial activist ploy and even more of a witch hunt then I originally believed.
>>
>>139154276
>I don't have time to check over everything arpaio has done

There is admittedly, a lot.

>He's pardoning Arpaio for the one thing they got him on, supposedly discriminating against latino's (the majority of illegal immigrants let's be honest).

They also got Al Capone on tax evasion, you think the sentence he was given adequately reflects the crime of "tax evasion"?

What they did get Arpaio on was that he was given a court order, and he ignored that court order showing a contempt of court. If everyone ignores court orders with impunity and there are no consequences then the court is effectively castrated. We become lawless. He was prosecuted on something actually quite important to our society, that our president pardoned him he's effectively undermined the power of what is supposed to be a co-equal branch of our government.

It's fucked.
>>
>>139155126
In this case, it was a judge abusing his power *to try to prevent the law from being enforced.*

You can take issue with some of the stuff he has done, but here he was right.
>>
>>139154364
>David Icke

Who the fuck is that?

>You don't believe in due process, you're just mad that we are learning to think like you.

I'm sorry, are you saying this in the context of a person who ignored a court order, was prosecuted for it, and then that prosecution was subverted by the President pardoning him?

Undermining that "due process"? What a fucking joke.
>>
>>139154580
>I like corruption

You're either one of those stupid poorfags who's convinced they are a "temporarily embarrassed millionaire" or a paid shill trying to cast as much shade on the situation as possible.
>>
Because hes /ourguy/ why else faggot?
>>
>>139155257
>In this case, it was a judge abusing his power *to try to prevent the law from being enforced.*

That's some mental fucking gymnastics, he could have fucking appealed if he didn't like the outcome and take it to a higher court.

Ignoring the court altogether is flagrantly disregarding the law, and absolutely absurd considering his fucking job.
>>
>>139155582
I hope to god I never become so fucking lobotomized that I judge a person's actions by their political alignment than by the content of their fucking actions.

You're a fucking cancer, you brainlet.

Activist judges don't deserve respect or consideration. Are they even human? Doubtful.
>>
>>139156039
Let me rephrase that for you:
>Activist sheriffs don't deserve respect or consideration. Are they even human? Doubtful.

Do you still stand by your argument? If you do, and trust me: Arpaio is a fucking activist sheriff, then at least you're not a goddamn hypocrite.

My own personal perspective is that you obey the fucking law and you work within that law in so far that you are able. Don't like a judge's decision? Then you fucking appeal it and take it to a higher court, you don't just fucking illegally ignore it altogether.

>Taxpayers have paid over $70 million in damages on Arpaio's behalf in racial profiling cases

Goddamn, and that's racial profiling alone. I know taxpayers had to pay out $45 million in settlement for the Board of Supervisors when Arpaio illegally went after them.

So that alone puts the tab at over $100 million.

KYS

There are thousands of other Sheriffs who are BTFOing illegals just fine without costing their state's taxpayers a fuckload of money. Maybe, just MAYBE, the problem is with him?

The same reason he made the comments about Charlottesville right as Bannon resigned: to keep us loyal by creating a media firestorm to distract us while he purges the administration of nationalists. He's hoping that if he feeds us crumbs with these symbolic gestures, we'll rationalize away the fact that he's putting neocon generals and neolib bankers in charge of policy. Even now /ptg/ is shilling Gorka's removal as a compromise rather than a surrender since they're naive enough to believe these (ultimately) meaningless shows of solidarity make him out to be his own man rather than a puppet.

He lost the battle with the establishment, and is using the media cycle to keep us on his side even as he kicks our guys out the White House. Expect him to create another hullabaloo at the same time he gets rid of Miller.

Holy shit, Andrew Thomas and Joe Arpaio are fucking nuts corruption fighters, who got smacked down by a pretty corrupt legal establishment

>Andrew Thomas graduates from Harvard and becomes attorney general for Arizona

>investigates Maricopa Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox who is on a board voting to APPROVE LOANS FROM THE STATE TO A NON-PROFIT WHICH WENT ON TO LEND HER MONEY
>investigates Maricopa Supervisor Don Stapley for spending campaign funds on personal furniture, travel and hair plugs

>More taking on the system, for impeding AG criminal investigations being done on Wilcox and Stapley: https://www.scribd.com/document/23513901/Maricopa-County-RICO-Complaint

>Drops everything when county superior court judge claims Thomas has conflict of interest... because he investigating those who oppose him politically (conveniently forgetting the facts of their wrong-doing)
>Thomas sends it all to United States Department of Justice, which basically says lolno
>DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BEGINS TO INVESTIGATE ARPAIO AND THOMAS
>find nothing and stop investigating in 2012
>corruption wins again, costing the state the reputation of two good men an 44 million dollars

Is this really America? Where two obviously corrupt individuals can get away with their corruption, receive compensation for getting investigated, and then those who are rightfully investigating their corruption have their reputations destroyed and get investigated by the Department of Justice? This is insanity.

And their job was to create trumped up charges against the Board of Supervisors, charges thrown out as absurd by a grand jury and one that cost the country $45 million in settling and got the county attorney disbarred?

That's them "doing their jobs"?
>>
>>139163038
How were they trumped up? Did Wilcox not approve state funding to a non-profit which was simultaneously loaning her money? Did Stapley not spend campaign funds on personal expenses, such as vacations and hair plugs?

>Wilcox not approve state funding to a non-profit which was simultaneously loaning her money
>Did Stapley not spend campaign funds on personal expenses, such as vacations and hair plugs?

I absolutely have a problem with conflict of interest and misappropriation of campaign funds, but don't be a hypocritical shitbag and sit there expounding on the evils of Wilcox and and Stapley when Trump retains control over his business empire and dumps taxpayer money into his properties every time he visits with his cadre of secret service members.

Of the 11 cases, only two had any inkling of merit and those were dismissed when it became apparent that the entire thing was motivated politically. Trust me, I'd love to see people guilty of the same crimes as Trump and his cabinet thrown the fuck in prison.
>>
>>139146777
>Why the fuck did Trump pardon Joe Arpaio?
Because he discriminated against Latinos and Trump wants to pander to white priders.

It's a disgrace that he will never be able to say radical nationalist terrorism.

As illegal as conflict of interest and misappropriation of public money can be.

If it wasn't for the Republican senate we'd have more than enough cause to impeach him already.
