I drove from my home in Glasgow to Dubrovnik this summer, stopping at Rohinj, Zadar, Split, Omis and Zagreb on the way back.

Croatia is good because it's clean, the fish is great and the beaches are probably the best in the world if you like swimming. Their war museums are packed with interesting exhibits, if you like that kind of thing.

Zagreb was probably my favourite place. It reminded me of Budapest but cleaner and more exciting. There's a funny place in the middle of Zagreb called La Štruk, where they serve 2 things: traditional Croatian cheese pastry, and beer.

Croat drivers are also competent and courteous, unlike other countries in the area.

Samo u danasnjem danu sam se dopisivao sa ribama o kojima mozes ali bukvalno samo da sanjas do kraja zivota, ne zato sto sam le faca le mangup le vidi me vec zato sto sam musko i zato sto me cene zbog dosta toga.
Skrinsotovao sam i to. Ali je smesno da ti pustam linkove i slike riba koje su "poznate" lepe, pametne, mlade, snimke sa tv-a i ostalo kako se dopisuju sa mnom kada ces ti retard i onaj hrvat da tipa njima pisete nesto glupo, tj pravicete budale od sebe a i meni po neku komplikaciju.
Ti ces samo da vrtis guzobuljo pacenik i ostalo, jebene slinave sisice sa interneta.

I got turned away at a small border crossing into BiH, trying to get to Medjugorje. The BiH guard wanted my "auto papiry", but apparently not my insurance documents or car ownership papers. Still have no idea what he meant.

At the Neum crossing they just waved us through.

Yeah, didn't speak a word of English either. My dad's Czech so I could understand a bit, but it was scary. I was going with my girlfriend, who was really freaked out. She's catholic and wanted to see Medjugorje.

We were the only car there. I think I technically need a special permit to enter with my car, because BiH isn't EU. Apparently they rarely ask for it, though.

The crossing into Dalmatia through Neum was fine though, they didn't ask for anything.
