Because the population of New England and their British forebears are among the most incredible people to ever exist on the Earth. They basically conquered the world once as Britain, then did it again as America, and dragged the less impressive southern population along for the ride.

The problem is these people are also total religious freaks and insane machiavellians, so they've talked themselves into believing in "Universal Humanity" (which of course subscribes to their progressive values, which despite somehow being universal are found only among Europeans). This allowed them to basically conquer the planet as an act of charity in their own minds (again, TWICE).

Its pointless trying to beat them. What we need is to convert them from Progressivism to some new faith. We're essentially trying to fight a war of religion, but at the moment we have no "Faith" that can replace Progressivism except for Christianity, which Progressivism specifically evolved to replace.
