Is TOR at least safe to use for piracy? Like I don't ever want to use it for any illegal shit, but I get tired of being paranoid every time I need to download some HBO show from a torrent. Yeah, bytes are far cheaper now. It's why we don't have gopher protocol anymore, because web can do it.

You could develop a similar setup to DNS with JSON and IP's to bootstrap new DNS with JSON via REST.

TOR is not as safe as you think, however a lot of the issues are being fixed with the new TOR bridges feature. Just either deal with using TOR exclusive or use Duck Duck Go with browser privacy settings.

tell me if i'm 'tarded here, but. If a legit website was nothing but hyperlinks to the IPaddrs of "no DNS listed sites" then would that work. LIke If "I" had a website that was nothing but the sitename as plain txt and then a IP http(s) link next to it, with each site/IP ocnbo on a seperate line. Or better yet, just publish a zip/txt of the "directory" of IPs to type into URL and get sites that way? would this be a possible "solution" or did I miss something? Like if I hosted a site on my home net for instalnce and the IP changes so I just publish an updated IP list, etc.

It's not retarded, but it's not ideal. First, companies change IP's of where their sites are sometimes. Do you want to have to change all of the IP's of all of your links every time another site does?

Second, most companies let DNS give a round-robin IP where if you go to www.google.com you are very likely to get a different destination than if I go there. This is by design so the load Google gets is spread out.

Creating an IP-only website defeats all of those conveniences.
