Proposed DNS workaround:

1. Universal search engine, supports .onion + trad sites
2. Tor browser plugin for rendering .onion sites

Why not just use Tor Browser exclusively? Slow, less reliable + bigger hurdle.

The Jews have got us by the balls with DNS. What say you, techfags?

How many people type URLs vs searching or bookmarks? Even when they know the URL
>>
>>138510316
Tor has been knowingly compromised since 2013.
>>
>>138512453
Doesn't matter. If content is on there, it needs to be accessible. The same goes for any replacement.
>>
>>138512816
Why not treat a .onion site the same way a .pdf is now with Adobe?

Lol that shit has always been popped. People were taking over entire circuits in 2008-20013. It's actually relatively simple:

The hardware isn't secure in the slightest.

Thanks faggot. For those who don't browse with lynx, yes 300kbps is ridiculously slow. But the global hopping is more likely the culprit in Tor's case.

You're missing the point. We're not trying to make a NSA proof darknet. We're making Jew-censored content ALREADY ON these networks more accessible.
>>
>>138516539
With the Jews having lost all pretense of self-control, it's a growth market.

Blockchain DNS is the only way to stop censorship using traditional DNS. It would resolve any addresses under a specific TLD (like .web) It was the last thing Satoshi was talking about on the Bitcointalk forums before he vanished in 2011. I wrote up a proof of concept as an undergrad, but I couldn't figure out the economic side of things--i.e. how to make sure domains are affordable while preventing domain squatting, etc.

Doesn't Ethereum do something like this?

But do we need DNS at all? Is DNS not just a low level index, superceded by search engines?

Namecoin is made to decentralize DNS

>>
>>138518378
No, DNS turns your hostname (www.google.com) into one or more IP's that are authorized to represent that domain name.
>>
>>138510316

the answer is REGULATION of the internet companies as the utilities and monopolies that they are
>>
>>138519396
What's to stop a search engine from making that association?

300Kb/s is maybe acceptable in Australia, but not in the rest of the world.

Basically it's a "I'm twelve and tor is cool, I have no idea how networking works and I could give a shit about the difference between class C and class A addresses, lul" thread.

Jews control every aspect of the communications system.

If someone is trying to make a call they don't want to happen, it won't happen.
>>
>>138519585
Nothing really, but a search engine isn't the best place. Think about how many domains your computer looks up per web page you visit. Trying to hit a google page to answer DNS queries is very costly. The DNS protocol is designed to provide that information as quickly and as minimally as possible.

Your http website can be megabytes, whereas a DNS response can be just tens of bytes. Do you think adding five orders of magnitudes to every DNS query is a good idea?
>>
>>138520066
Fuck off kike. Nobody wants your kind here.
>>
>>138520387
That makes no sense. You don't need an html response for the equivalent of a DNS request when a JSON response will do.

Is TOR at least safe to use for piracy? Like I don't ever want to use it for any illegal shit, but I get tired of being paranoid every time I need to download some HBO show from a torrent. I assume it's just some private firm fishing out IPs from a torrent and then sending claims to my ISP, so really I just need a way to hide my IP from normal users but at the same time I don't want to get blamed for some retard selling drugs using my IP that was given to TOR?
>>
>>138520967
>That makes no sense. You don't need an html response for the equivalent of a DNS request when a JSON response will do.

Do you guys think it would be possible for the ISP's to completely co-opt your entire connection?

Like, if they were shareholder owned, and then hostilly taken over by jewish investors from mossad?
>>
>>138510316
Would be as useless as having a sight on tor. People wouldnt use a browser like that because they dont want child porn popping up accidentally in their searches. And families wont use it because they want restrictions

Literally only alt-right people and dorks would use it
>>
Jews are never going to let you even TALK to anyone who can help you...

You will talk to a mossad art student instead.
>>
>>138520967
I was expecting a search engine be an http response.

Yeah, bytes are far cheaper now. It's why we don't have gopher protocol anymore, because web can do it.

You could develop a similar setup to DNS with JSON and IP's to bootstrap new DNS with JSON via REST.
>>
TOR is not as safe as you think, however a lot of the issues are being fixed with the new TOR bridges feature. Just either deal with using TOR exclusive or use Duck Duck Go with browser privacy settings.

tell me if i'm 'tarded here, but. If a legit website was nothing but hyperlinks to the IPaddrs of "no DNS listed sites" then would that work. LIke If "I" had a website that was nothing but the sitename as plain txt and then a IP http(s) link next to it, with each site/IP ocnbo on a seperate line. Or better yet, just publish a zip/txt of the "directory" of IPs to type into URL and get sites that way? would this be a possible "solution" or did I miss something? Like if I hosted a site on my home net for instalnce and the IP changes so I just publish an updated IP list, etc.
>>
>>138525012
It's not retarded, but it's not ideal. First, companies change IP's of where their sites are sometimes. Do you want to have to change all of the IP's of all of your links every time another site does?

Second, most companies let DNS give a round-robin IP where if you go to www.google.com you are very likely to get a different destination than if I go there. This is by design so the load Google gets is spread out.

Creating an IP-only website defeats all of those conveniences.
