For normies:

>Mann: Climate change is real and I've proven it, with all this government funding! But I need more :^)
>UN: This is our official evidence, here's money
>David Ball: Post proofs?
>Mann: I don't need to show my data
>David Ball: You lied then
>Mann: See you in court

>queue court case
>Mann loses
>Mann commits contempt of court and chooses millions of dollars in punitive charges rather than just show the fucking data he swears is true.

This is THE source for the United Nation's decision that climate change is real and everyone but China has to reduce production.
>>
Yes, Climate does in fact Change over time. I don't think anyone ever denied this. It's to what effect we humans are effecting the rate at which it changes, well that's up for debate. However, just talking about if something exists or not is silly unless you are proposing solutions to the problem if there is one. Otherwise you are just some stupid fucking blabber mouth repeating known facts. Thanks Captain Obvious.

It's more that different branches of science don't communicate that well. Climatologists like their short-term models and don't account for long solar cycles (which are reasonably well studiet by astrophysicists). Hint: we are pretty much at local maximum of solar activity and it's about to start dropping rather sharply in several decades, leading to a fucking ice age in several centuries (disregarding other factors, which do exist and are relatively influential). Can try to cite academic sources if needed. (Sun is not really my thing, I'm a space rays guy, but I go to the same conferences and hear occasional reports about sun)

Multiple issues here
My main skepticism is whether or not the prescriptions for global warming are honest. So far I see it as way to hurt manufacturing in some nations while allowing the same pollution for manufacturing in other nations. So the current system is not designed to tackle the problem, it merely redistributes it. So I think when you talk about denial you are lumping people like me in, who thinks that if there is such a consensus, and climate change is so dangerous, why don't they tackle the issue instead of developing ways to redistribute the money from the western middle class to the impoverished third world. I would support a billionaires tax for the environment. i.e. only people of exceptional wealth are held accountable. but that's not what they are proposing, the wealthiest of the wealthiest profit while the middle class suffers...

I am in denial that the people responsible for climate change policy care one bit about the environment. I believe there SOLUTIONS are a scam.

1) Eclipses happen all the time, if "climate change" does not then this is a false equivalency as it is quite easy to predict something which we have seen before. If "climate change" has happened before the way they talk about it now, then it sort of fucks up the whole "humans are to blame" narrative.

2) if it was really an issue the scientific community would be doubling down on nuclear in order to make viable fusion reactors and nip this issue in the but. Not tweeting about how much smarter they are and complaining about the Paris accord.

ASIA FOR THE ASIANS, AFRICA FOR THE AFRICANS, WHITE COUNTRIES FOR EVERYBODY!

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.

The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.

What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?

How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?

And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?

But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

Well that's your opinion. I mean, I spent some time looking into it, but I can't say that I'm certain the evidence for climate change is real or not, because I don't have the time (or the patience) to study it enough to convince myself.

here's a quote from one these climate scientists about their methods:

>On the one hand, as scientists we are ethically bound to the scientific method, in effect promising to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but – which means that we must include all doubts, the caveats, the ifs, ands and buts. On the other hand, we are not just scientists but human beings as well. And like most people we’d like to see the world a better place, which in this context translates into our working to reduce the risk of potentially disastrous climate change. To do that we need to get some broad based support, to capture the public’s imagination. That, of course, means getting loads of media coverage. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we might have. This “double ethical bind” we frequently find ourselves in cannot be solved by any formula. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest. I hope that means being both.

admitting to what I think is one of the biggest issues with AGW proponents: the feeling that they are not only scientists but also advocates. This reveals a huge underlying bias for proving AGW rather than trying to establish the reality of things.

In a very short explanation, while human actions are only a small part (CO2 emission), that small part broke the balance of the ecosystem, literally a straw that broke camels back.
Right now we are the highest level of CO2 concentration in the last several hundred thousand years or so. CO2 in atmosphere started increasing rapidly with industrialization and burning of fossil fuels, and that's the only possible cause behind it.
Mechanism behind greenhouse effect is pretty much proven and well understood.
Just add two and two, it all makes sense.
So only possibility is that they are falsifying data. Theory is very straightforward.

It's also funny how I was able to see evidence of the eclipse myself and conduct simple experiments to prove it was happening but I can't do such a thing for man-made climate change.
>>
>>138522496
I understand that but I find it far more logical to believe that there are very rich and influential groups that pay good money to fight climate change theory because it affects their profit, than to believe scientists worldwide are falsifying data to get money, and politicians and everyone else is just letting them get away with it, worldwide.
Another thing is that arguments from the opposing block are just idiotic most of the time.
>>
>>138523086
>Mechanism behind greenhouse effect is pretty much proven and well understood.

wrong. The greenhouse effect is well understood. However, most of the warming is not due to the greenhouse effect directly, it's due to a "Positive feedback loop" where an increase in temperature in CO2 would lead to more water vapor in the atmosphere (a very strong greenhouse gas) which in turn would lead to higher temperatures.

Whereas heating due to CO2 is well understood, heating due to the positive feedbac which is assumed in all alarmist models is not.

>In a very short explanation, while human actions are only a small part (CO2 emission), that small part broke the balance of the ecosystem, literally a straw that broke camels back.

this is a nice analogy but that is not how science operates. I will agree with you that the unprecendented CO2 concentrations are alarming, and we should try to reduce CO2 "just in case". However, the "just in case" should be balanced with a reasonable economic policy. Higher gas prices kill people too.
>>
http://principia-scientific.org/breaking-fatal-courtroom-act-ruins-michael-hockey-stick-mann/

"Penn State climate scientist, Michael ‘hockey stick’ Mann commits contempt of court in the ‘climate science trial of the century.’ Prominent alarmist shockingly defies judge and refuses to surrender data for open court examination. Only possible outcome: Mann’s humiliation, defeat and likely criminal investigation in the U.S.

"The defendant in the libel trial, the 79-year-old Canadian climatologist, Dr Tim Ball (above, right) is expected to instruct his British Columbia attorneys to trigger mandatory punitive court sanctions . . ."

>>
>>138500705
Yes, among climate scientists, there is a consensus
1) that climate change is happening.
2) that human activity is responsible in part.

No, there is not a consensus among climate scientists
1) what the long term effects of climate change will be.
2) what percent of climate change is caused by man.

And no, there is certainly not
1) United States legislation that will sensibly and effectively curtail man's effect on the climate.

But yes, there is definitely plenty of legislation under the guise of "dealing with climate change" that will
1) further centralize power into the hands of a few globalist.
2) fuck over the consumer.
>>
>>138523544
I agree with you, but we need to establish where we are exactly and act accordingly. Short-term benefits and loses you speak of will not matter much if alarmist theory turns to be correct. I'm also skeptical about it.
However, climate change is happening and it's anthropogenic, I thought we are discussing that.

2) Liberal Politicians have actively shutdown nuclear reactor after nuclear reactor despite it being the most environmentally-friendly large-scale energy source.

Look up Hillary Clinton on Indian Point. But be prepared to do some research. On the campaign trail, she talked about how she was for "oversight not closure." Google will spit out article after article quoting her. But she's lying (like usual). She fucking tore up the EPA trying to get Indian Point shut down -- literally throwing temper tantrums at scientists and engineers who told her it was a stupid idea. She would literally tell engineers to lie about the data so she could shut it down. She was only convinced to let it stay open when people started explaining to her that not only was it stupid from an environmental standpoint, but also from a political stand point -- that she would completely alienate the parts of New York whose economy was completely dependent on Indian Point.

Oh nevermind, I guess we'll just throw money at their notoriously corrupt and secretive government. Global temperatures are rising, see pic
It's indisputable that humans have been putting more CO2 into the air since the industrial revolution.
The Greenhouse Effect has been known about since 1896: http://www.rsc.org/images/Arrhenius1896_tcm18-173546.pdf
Yes, the news and politicians like Al Gore spread false information, but they're not scientists.
There is no other reason for this rise, other than human emitted CO2.
The sea levels will rise 3-6 feet causing millions of dollars in damages, droughts will occur, hurricanes will become stronger, the oceans will become even more acidified, and much more.
What's the answer? A mixture of green alternatives and nuclear power, preferably with Thorium. At least until we work out nuclear fusion.

interesting. Now tell me when is the water going to rise? ive been working on coastal engineering proyects since 1990 here in spain and the median dept is very significant either to calculate heights for wavebreakers or to choose what wave height use, broken wave or non broken wave.

still not variability in water dept over 27 years so tell me, when is this water going to come? in winter on top of dragons?

no one working in the field doing actual engineering believes the climate memes.

I listed why it getting hotter is bad:
>The sea levels will rise 3-6 feet causing millions of dollars in damages, droughts will occur, hurricanes will become stronger, the oceans will become even more acidified, and much more.
Also any immediate effect that would be good, such as more CO2 for plants resulting in higher crop yields would be counterbalanced with other effects, such as droughts in this example.
>>138530602
Yes, climate change has happened before, but do you want to know why? CO2. The Cambrian period and late Cretacous period were hot, why, because they had a lot of carbon dioxide in the air causing the greenhouse effect.

> Can anyone explain me this shit? Why "Zaki" is so butthurted about this theory? Becouse the theory disproves his WE WUZ KANGS nationalists myths?
Because science is an ambiguous term:
1) research about this world and how it all actually is.
2) control over those who deal in it in the first sense.
Zahi used to be some minister of culture or some other shit, so he's definitely of the 2nd group, and thus not actually a scientist in the 1st sense.
And Graham smoked weed until he tried ayahuaska, which makes him my man (it's his voice in the video, btw)
1st group loves finding out that they used to be wrong, because that makes them understands more.
2nd group hated finding out when others find out that they was wrong, because that shows whole the world because those pricks are full of shit, like in this particular episode, for example.

Some of climate science is undoubtably, I didn't believe it for a long time, but unfortunately it is the case. It is not as dire as people make it out to be on the left and it is not as fake as people make it out to be on the right. We will be fucked by the year 2100 and it is specifically due to the offset of CO2 and the talking heads can't explain exactly why for some reason but if you dig into the literature or watch some informational scientific videos the truth is there.
>>
>>138535394
>Can anyone explain me this shit? Why "Zaki" is so butthurted about this theory?
If Zaki is wrong, so are the vast, vast majority of archaeologists who have been working in Egypt, and around the world, for the past 50 years, which would also mean a lot of people losing work, including himself.

>90% of humanity dies and we go into a mini ice age
I did not say that, that actually goes against what I said.
>Big whoop.
The big whoop is not that the world will end, because it isn't, it's that we'll lose millions of dollars in lost infrastructure, and we'll have droughts and more severe hurricanes which will kill many humans, and more acidified oceans killing several fish which will also kill humans dependent on fish, and markets that depend on fish.

also allow me to tell you something about aether:
Robert B. Laughlin, Nobel Laureate in Physics, endowed chair in physics, Stanford University, had this to say about ether in contemporary theoretical physics:

It is ironic that Einstein's most creative work, the general theory of relativity, should boil down to conceptualizing space as a medium when his original premise [in special relativity] was that no such medium existed [..] The word 'ether' has extremely negative connotations in theoretical physics because of its past association with opposition to relativity. This is unfortunate because, stripped of these connotations, it rather nicely captures the way most physicists actually think about the vacuum. . . . Relativity actually says nothing about the existence or nonexistence of matter pervading the universe, only that any such matter must have relativistic symmetry. [..] It turns out that such matter exists. About the time relativity was becoming accepted, studies of radioactivity began showing that the empty vacuum of space had spectroscopic structure similar to that of ordinary quantum solids and fluids. Subsequent studies with large particle accelerators have now led us to understand that space is more like a piece of window glass than ideal Newtonian emptiness. It is filled with 'stuff' that is normally transparent but can be made visible by hitting it sufficiently hard to knock out a part. The modern concept of the vacuum of space, confirmed every day by experiment, is a relativistic ether. But we do not call it this because it is taboo.
