I got cloud coverage, but it was thin enough to block most of the light, so I managed to get away without any special glasses

Southwest NC here. Was clear right up until ~15 minutes before totality. Then clouds. Sad!

The first noticeable change was that the temperature dropped at first, slightly then suddenly like 20 degrees, then roosters began cawing, street lights came on and it was very apparent that it was getting dark very drastically.

Only thing cool about it was the eerie daylight that preceded totality. You don't ever see that except seeing something kind of like it rarely as a sign of catastrophic weather on its way.

This was the weirdest part to me. It's still a hot, muggy piece of shit out here in mo. I was just a few miles south of the shadow and it got pretty dark and stuff, but the eery part was that the temp dropped a good 15 degrees relatively quickly

Saw nothing except similar to your example toward the very end while the TV was on inside. For the most part, was like a coastal fog, if not about to rain. I was expecting the sky to blacken, but was disappointed.

Tampa FL here and honestly I thought it was pretty cool. I wasn't expecting to not be able to see my hand in front of my face like most of you so my expectations were tame. It was 80% covered according to weather.com and while you couldn't notice an obvious change, it was noticable. It was considerably cooler leading up to the mostly covered stage than it usually is in FL at 2:45 in August - we went outside and stood in the sun and it didn't feel like your flesh was cooking like usual. And if you could get a good look at the sun with a decent viewer it was pretty cool.

8/10 overall, better than anticipated
