I hate the vocals in both. I don't like any vocals I can't understand and possibly sing along to. Part of my enjoyment of songs is from the lyrical content. Both Metallica and Megadeth had sociopolitical themes that I enjoyed.

Also the more modern singers seem a lot more whiny to me. Even the ones doing extreme vocals sound like they are try-hards.

I think the internet is ramping everyones social awareness up and now ego is a large part of people's personalities. I think I dislike modern metal for a similar reason I hate rap music. So it strikes ofcourse a chord with people on the right even the youth of today enjoys this music, and in it is a desire to bring back that comfiness and positivity and focus on aesthetics and improving human civilization whereas the left and the rabid antifa and communism seems more about wanting to destroy it, denegrate anything aesthetically pleasing and dress and behave and act like total degenerates.

Eurobeat i guess you can say represents similar upbeat optimism and futuristic visions of creating a magnifiscient civilization and where anything is possible if you work hard enough together to achieve it.
