It's the whole reason why we see commercials of crying puppies and dead African kids. Same reason why we have so many "Oooh look, we're green" which means "We recycle 1% of our trash and donate a small pittance to some Al Gore circle jerk charity...GLOBAL WARMING!". "Look I recycled this piece of plastic, #savingTheEarth". Pretending to care is the new American way.

Hardly anyone actually gives a fuck about politics, even the big protests you see are just events for people to go meet each other or beat each other off. It's like a fucking convention.

Heh, we get a bit of that here too... Recycling, World Vision, etc. I mean. I suppose it's good though that people look after the environment for me.
