The entire premise doesn't pass the sniff test. For example, if northern states didn't want a Union that allowed slavery then secession was the answer to that desire, not the problem itself.

At the end of the day the Yankee aggressors have to answer to why they invaded the homes of their supposed countrymen and raped, pillaged, and destroyed their way to the Atlantic coast.

It wasn't about slavery it was about Starting Rights especially self government. The North had a much larger population and so were able to dominate American policy even in the South. Very few Southerners owned slaves because they were fucking expensive to buy and maintain. Blacks and lower class whites worked together in many areas of production. Everything except actual cotton picking. That's why black and white southern cultural food is identical.
