What an idiotic, myopic view. No nuance, no subtlety, no insight, just kneejerk babbling. The term 'alt left' has shown its utility in demonizing the antifa and far left groups, and is a more effective term than anything we've come up with previously. Those on the far left resent the term, and those in the media use it with the same tone that they use against the 'alt right' and 'white supremacists'. It damages their narrative of the 'peaceful left' and of 'antifascism' as normal or a belief held by the everyday American. It's a useful phrase that we (the right wing) should use to our advantage.

'Communist' and 'socialist' don't have the negative connotation they used to in the eyes of many Americans, for many reasons, such as the obfuscation by American education of the many deaths that occurred under communism, as well as the belief that they're inherently less violent than the right wing. With a new label without these associations, whose only application is to antifa types and the violent elements of the far left who work towards the restriction of the right's ability to speak and towards the elimination of conservatism and any element of white identity, we can demonize them more effectively, I think.
