Mass undocumented immigration, the total failure of muliticultural policies. But there are many sides. I witnessed the decline of our manufacturing industy and as a teenager, the closure of shipbuilding and of course the miners' strike. I was 17 in 1984.

Britain has become a service economy. Especially financial services - all based in London. The media too is all based in London.
London is a shit. But a very powerful shit. Some devolution is necessary for England. Scotland, Northern Ireland and to a lesser extent, Wales have more local representation. I fucking HATE the SNP, though.

Places like Devon and Cornwall, Yorkshire, the previous industrial North-East from Hull to Newcastle, the sparsely populated areas of Cumbria and Northumberland need proper political representation. Brexit is a step in the right direction; but even that is getting fucked with by the media, politicians, corporations.

OP, I don't really have an answer. But I tell you straight that devolution of some powers from the liberal London elite will let us improve this shit situation. Maybe more powers to local councils, I just don't know the solution to the problem. But I know what the problem is:
