While bait, this misinformation kills me. The Negro was a great influence in rock, yes, but the influences that the Negro built from were European. Not only this, but the Negro's influence in rock music is limited to its initial, arguably worst stages. Simple, boring music that are only made interesting by innuendos in lyrics. Aside from that, the rock music of the late 40's and 50's is quite frankly very weak. Much less interesting then the big band music that dominated in the 20's, 30's and most of the 40's.

Rock became interesting when classically trained, white, British men starting taking a liking to the sound, and produced a cornucopia of music that can be likened to classical music. Take the epic Tarkus by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer for example. No Negro that I know of has made anything so complex and interesting in modern times. You also have Genesis and their early albums, such as Selling England by the Pound which has many phenomenal pieces of instrumentation. Of course, there also exists the likes of Pink Floyd who exceeding in creating the most popular of this style of music.

Fast forward to today and you still have only the white man producing great works of music. Whether they be in a genre such as metal, with Greek band Septic Flesh creating classical pieces in earlier albums alongside their metal and eventually evolving to incorporating the classical music into their regular sound, or Devin Townsend, a Canadian who has created some extremely complex albums, or even dipping into extreme Metal with Infant Annihilators most recent album that is extremely layered and complex.

The Negro may have had an influence on rock, which was built upon by influence of European music, but the white man has improved and mastered the sound, growing it to something never once dreamed of years ago.
