i think a lot of that has changed by now. by the 1990s, the government started placing a lot of emphasis on nationalism/patriotism to unify the people, as well as justify their ambitions of expansion. a lot of their official maps for example are framed in the sense of the motherland not losing "one drop (of blood)". they're ridiculously prideful.
