I have to say that pagans on /pol/ have strenghted my faith in Christ. I swear I have not seen a single pagan who made a well-thought-out or coherent argument for anything really. Christians on the other hand are amazing, smart, educated, and compassionate, especially should you visit the /christian/ board on infinichan.

I believe that reality is the best proof for God; Europe ruled the world when it was deeply Christian; the pagan and Christian posters on here are just another example.

But it can be easily argued that that way of finding meaning for yourself can lead you into vain imaginations or trying to rationalize everything even though you will run into dead ends constantly. I'd say it's more humble to say you don't know and just through different avenues of thought until you start seeing logical patterns and possible conclusions. Truth is attainable, but it takes humility to receive it.

Nowhere in the verse does it give any implication that Jesus gives Peter authority over the church. The catholic church didn't exist until the third century. If you actually researched early Christian history you'd know that there was no authority structure and no orders of authoritative nature that extended beyond the local church.

That being said, Protestants are a heretical Roman spin off. Luther was a catholic.
