I'll low-down you on the finer details of living in canada as a white male.

We have job security, don't fuck it up in the first 3 months and you can last at the same position until you die or the company shuts down. Jobs are thin but actually available, for the most part. 90% of the jobs are minimum wage, even after coming out of college. You won't get anything more unless you are charismatic and actually spend about a year looking. My advice is to just join the military, we don't enter battles unless America forces us so you'll end up on reserves for some time doing dick-all and getting paid to show up. Use the military to pay your life off before 30 years old, then find a better job with that fancy degree.

The housing market isn't as bad any everyone says, you can find a new place to rent from at any time of the year, and you can sell a house within 30 days no prob. If you wanted to, just move to a university city, buy a 4 bedroom/2.5 bath house and rent it out. 8 month leases for 4-6 tennants @ $1000+ CAD a month, you'll make a profit in 5 years. Make sure to filter for only university students so they move out on their own, because you'll never be able to evict them otherwise.

The only shitty part of Canada is the cost of everything. We have an anti-monopoly law but companies get around that through oligopoly and raise their prices every year beyond inflation. 10 years ago you could survive on 50 bucks a month for food, now it's 200 per person on average. A Cell phone and Home Internet will cost you $200 bucks a month too, at least. No starting packages with unlimited internet, and speed as slow as 5 MBPS unless you pay more.

The people in Canada are nice, they'll apologize for little things like stepping in front of you. But they only do that because they don't want to engage in conversation. I've seen someone pay $120 extra a month because he was afraid to bring it up to their boss, it's not joke, they are all fucking betas.

consumption+investment+government spending+net exports==GDP
With more immigration you get increased consumption, more spending towards newcomers and with wages going down it becomes cheaper to make shit and export it bringing net exports up. All said and done these people bring the GDP up, but does it help everyone? Absolutely not, it only helps the people who make bank on the economy doing well aka banks, hedge funds and corporations who play the markets and can undercut workers up until they leave for cheaper labor countries or automate their assembly lines. The only way to fix the first problem is tariffs to make foreign products more expensive which is a VERY hard sell. The second is simply to lower the number of workers to accommodate technological advancement which cannot and should not be stopped. With less workers in an industry the wage will rise to attract demanded labor if the supply isnt enough which is why trades wages are going up with the retiring boomers, however politicians want them replaced with thousands of H1Bs who will beat out Canadians because the H1Bs will have experience and in the end they will dilute wages for skilled trades like they did every other industry including oil in Alberta.
Politicians will never do this though because they cant make money for their donors with these policies, so whichever major party you vote for you lose.
Vote for a 3rd party with views you support and give them the subsidy from each vote,

Don't think about opening a business, there is so much regulations to keep your business from earning a profit that you'll go out of business before it's 4th Q, unless you take out a bigger loan that you'll eventually Bankrupt on.
