I argued back and forth with her, she told me that having a disability support plan with the university is not enough to justify not coming to class (lol?) and to not bother submitting my assignment because she wouldn't even mark it.

So I replied, "the reason I didn't show up to class is because everybody kept fucking misgendering me".

She replied "Please submit your assignment by the due date so I can mark it", then followed up with links to gender identity clinics in my town. Got 90% on the essay and a distinction overall.

As for the OP I wouldn't worry about uni students. My wife and I finished uni in the 90s (yeah we are old) and she did arts/law (i did a STEM degree) at u syd and there were lecturers who practically would start each class singing the internationale

Campus life was a lot more of a thing back then too. So uni politics were probably even crazier. Its just nobody really cared about it because it wasn't magnified on social media. I have friends who kids are going through uni now and they are basically working too much to get engaged with campus life. My kids are going to uni soon and they all have jobs. I can't imagine they will be hanging out at the uni bar talking marxism.

Most people get over this kind of politics when they start working and mellow out. Millennials feeling like they have been ripped the fuck off by globalisation is a much bigger driving force of the comeback of the bernies and corbyns rather than uni imo. Its also what got people voting Trump.
