A lot of that Democratic backlash in beneficial it it involved democrats taking moral stands against what to most Americans are common sense proposals. A couple weeks ago when Trump announced support for the merit based immigration bill, the entire democratic party went berserk, while at the same time millions of Americans were scratching their heads because they found out for the first time that the current immigration scheme didn't favor English speakers or people who could support themselves. Trump can make people question left-wing orthodoxy in ways that weren't possible before.

But of course the tiki torch autists want to piggy back on Trump's success, so now the left can just hammer Trump on this shit instead of being forced to defend their own shitty left wing policies.

My father, who has always voted strait Democrat for his entire life, listened to the news about the hole thing and thought something didn't sound right.

He always believed the news and thought being informed was listening to CNN and NPR. However, he knew that skin heads and the KKK barely exist. So this whole fuckery caused him to look at the entire Trump speech that CNN was talking about, and he realized CNN was lying through their teeth.
